We stayed at all three of the 62 Nord properties on our recent trip and this was the most expensive ($900+ night with dinner) with by far the worst service. I had been looking forward to staying here the most for my birthday and was really disappointed. From the arrival on there were gaps in the service and facilities. When we arrived it took over 30 minutes for the receptionist to acknowledge us and check us in. She in fact checked someone else in who came in after us ahead of us despite the fact that we had been waiting right in front of her in the lobby. I’ve received faster service at a courtyard Marriott. While the room was lovely, the door handle was broken and fell off in my hand and the bathroom shower is dark and poorly lit. The sauna and hot tub were nice but the sauna was so crowded I (and others) had to wait to use it, which made it unpleasant and less than relaxing. The lowlight of the trip was the Lavvo dinner which was my special birthday dinner of the trip. This is marketed as an exclusive and special experience for hotel guests and is over $200/pp. First, getting to the lavvo required a 15 minute muddy hike. No instructions on where to meet or what to wear were provided before hand and I had to go back to my room to change into suitable footwear. Next, the experience is incredibly smokey inside. It’s marketed as learning how to cook and as several courses. It was just one person cooking with no server, and was one entree and one very subpar dessert (that came from jars). The cook/server at one point told us that he had forgotten the caviar and had to leave to get it, so that by the time he came back and served dinner, the potatoes were cold. The server then left again after be plated dessert which was then served as blobby plate of mush that looked like vomit. I get it was rustic, but this one entree with sad dessert was not a $200/pp experience. Further, we learned that the hotel refunded the other guests that night for part of the dinner based on not being what was advertised. My husband emailed the hotel and one week later has yet to hear back. I’m not one to leave 1 star reviews, but the fact that we wrote directly to the hotel for them to remedy this and did not receive any reply has lead me here. This is not the luxury experience you are looking...

an absolutely magical experience in western norway. we spent hours outside, surrounded by breathtaking fjord views, and ended each night with a gourmet four course meal. #hotels #travel #norway #visitnorway #quietluxury #luxurytravel

My husband and I stayed at the Storfjord for two nights last week on our babymoon and I wish we would have stayed a week! We both agreed that our stay was the best hotel stay we have experienced in our lives. I cannot think of enough positive things to say. First, we were upgraded to a junior suite free of charge. Our room had heated floors, a steam shower and tub, and gas fireplace that made it easy to kick back and relax. The service was absolutely next level. We were some of the only people staying at the hotel and were treated like royalty by the staff. We had our own table set for dinner each night and breakfast each morning. The staff knew about where we were from and genuinely seemed interested in connecting with us and sharing their experiences living in Norway. Joseph, who provided dinner service, was particularly engaging. He happened to grow up in the Houston, TX suburbs just like us - which made the world feel very small! I hope to experience this hotel once again in my life, but for now I can only daydream about the great experience we had. Cannot recommend enough.

Outstanding! Recent reviews had left me worried but Andres’s help in the lead up, the fantastic staff, superb food (to cater for gluten free and vegetarian diets), our suite and the magical setting exceeded our expectations. Nothing was too much trouble and Leo would think afew steps ahead from checking the routes, flight times, if the cafe we were visiting had non dairy options and so on. Andres, the chef, Philip, Anna out in the cold many times, Joseph, Daniel and Lelina ensuring I didn’t slip on the way to the jacuzzi! V grateful to you all. It is off the beaten track but this is how and why you get the mesmerising views (see pictures). The tie in with 62 NORD meant we enjoyed an exclusive cruise which was a highlight of our trip. This was a special birthday holiday and heartfelt thanks to the team for making it even more memorable.
