Eikerapen guest gard AS — Hotel in Åseral

We arrived Friday and discovered upon arrival that the hotel hosted two concerts that weekend. Our family room was spacious, clean and with a beautiful view!||However the noise from the concerts were unbearable, and drunk people in the hallways banging at our door made our stay horrible! One of my kids were so scared and couldn’t sleep for a really long time after the concert ended at 1 am!||We even asked for ear plugs at the reception, but they didn’t have any. We also asked to change our family room to a more quiet part of the hotel since the concert was super close. We even offered to change our family room to two double rooms, but no luck with that request.||The morning buffet Saturday can hardly be called a buffet - really poor choices!|However the buffet Sunday morning was ok.||❌ We’re disappointed that the hotel didn’t inform about the concerts in advance to our arrival.||❌ We’re disappointed that the hotel didn’t made an effort relocating us when the noise was unbearable.||❌ We’re dissatisfied with the poor breakfast buffet Saturday.||✔️ Had fun playing mini golf with the kids, free of charge.||✔️ Nice location, clean room and beautiful scenery.||✔️ Car park...

No other place I have ever visited, I have been met upon arrival by the host on a horse-drawn cart - and taken for a ride. Well, not literally! Welcoming and very friendly and service-minded staff. Excellent food (set menu for the day) and a good selection of beverages. Tea / coffee with the dessert at no extra charge. Originally a farm house, the owner had courage enough to erect a 1890's Swiss style villa a decade ago, integrating the "fiin-stue" of the original house within the building, oozing of history with antique agricultural implements "strategically" positioned outdoors. I gather it must be pretty lively there during the Eikerapen Roots Festival....

We were hunting in the mountains north of the hotel, near Nåvatn. Due to long hike out of the terrain we decided to call Eikerapen Gjestegard to see if we could get some food and a bed to sleep in for the night, instead of driving all the way home.
