Rømskog Spa & Resort — Hotel in Aurskog-Høland

This place is a hidden gem that I hope others in need of quiet and relaxation find.||Rømskog Resort & Spa sits on a beautiful lake surrounded by Norwegian forest. Idyllic setting! Before I even arrived, my experience booking online and then adding an upgraded package and spa treatments over the phone was seamless. Soon after checking in I had a relaxing facial and foot massage which was the perfect start to my stay. After my spa appointment I enjoyed a custom mocktail by the lake to enjoy the view and take in the sounds of the water and birds. The outdoor pool temperature was perfect, warm but not too hot. I counted at least three outdoor saunas and there were several indoors as well - options for all year round. They also offer lots of outdoor activities including ropes course (geared toward adults), stand up paddle boarding, canoeing, and have maps for several walking trails nearby. It was a bit cold and rainy during my stay so I stuck to the spa mostly! Dinner at Rømskog was perfection and the breakfast buffet was wonderful. The bed was very comfortable and equipped with plenty of pillows (much appreciated). They have a great training room! It is not the newest but they have much more equipment than I expect from most hotels and it was great to get a workout in before getting in the pool.||All of the staff went above and beyond to make my short stay memorable and enjoyable! Thank you especially to the staff in the dining room and the spa!||I hope others will enjoy their stay at Rømskog as much as I did. The staff will absolutely treat you well here.||One note, it was totally quiet and peaceful the entire time I was there. Rømskog resort is situated right by the a lake deep in the woods - in the midle of no where. It it not very big, but has all amenities you want. And there is plenty of outdoor options too.||||The highlight was the staff - friendly, attentative and smiling. The surroundings where really nice too - a lovely beautiful place. ||||To be a Resort/Spa the general area for socializing/relaxing was a bit small, so you where either doing a Spa thing, being out or in your room. Pool / Spa area was OK, but showed signes of age. Pool ab bit chilly for my taste, but outdoor plunge pool just brilliant. All in all nice enough and we where having a great afternoon. The exercise and spa facilities we left untried, so not sure how that was.||||The rooms large enough, equipped with what you expect - but showed its age too. Not to the high standard one might expect at a Spa resort. But then again, nothing to complain about either. However, if you have issues with hard beds and low pillows be warned. ||||The stay comes with a fixed lunch and dinner setup. 2course lunch "buffe style" and 3course dinner. Pretty good quality, like one can expect. ||||All in all - we had a great weekend indoors and outdoors on a beautiful and peaceful place.
