Saltstraumen Brygge — Hotel in Bodø

You might think that the hot water running out as you get ready to rinse off - and having to rinse off with seriously arctic cold water - in a town inside the arctic circle - would make one give someplace a 0-star review||You would be WRONG||As I stood stuck and freezing in the bathroom, my husband found an emergency number to call. And even in my freezing state, in less time than it took me to catch up - they had found a lady who could come by for such emergencies, moved us to a different (and bigger, gorgeous) apartment/room and with apologies. So much service can only mean 5 stars||The place can seem basic - mainly hand soap, towels, linens in the bathroom and bedroom. But for families or groups - the kitchen is fully stocked. There’s a huge fridge to stock up, and if you’re into the fishing activities, you just have to step out of your room. Everything else (including a cooler to store your haul) is provided. ||Go here. Whether you’re like us visiting in the winter (but we are here the same time as a huge concert by a famous Norwegian group, so all hotels in Bodo were sold out - and frankly, what a stroke of luck that was in the end!!!) or into the activities this place is known for - this place is amazing||There’s a grocery shop about 1.5 km away for anything you could need (that actually includes any fishing lures 🙂🙂) and cafes in the town we plan to explore soon. ||Saltstraumen Brygge would be my recommendation for the future though - simply for the people here who keep it simple but keep it perfect and...

What a fantastic place. Just finished a 16 day trip to the camp and enjoyed every minute of it. The accommodation was perfect, very well layed out and just what was needed after a hard day's fishing. Kurt and all his staff where very professional and always on hand with up to date advice and tips. The shop was very well stocked, with everything you'll need during your stay. I went very over equipped when actually there was no need, as they have everything on site that you need. But most importantly the fishing was superb. Me and everyone from my party caught some fantastic fish and lots of them. There was never a dull moment with some incredible scenery whilst catching big fish. Just come back from staying here for a week. Super friendly staff and easy no fuss accommodation. From the start nothing is too much trouble Kirt and his team are super helpful and speak excellent English. ||We had room 12 which is small but great view , warm and clean all you need for your stay. There are other bigger options available . ||I would highly recommend a stay here for shorter or longer stays whether you fish or dont the setting is great. There is a handy petrol station and supermarket just over the bridge which has decent long opening hours. |Already looking at next visit thanks...
