Spent five nights. Nice place with a huge number of activities, but:
No heating of water slide water.
Some rooms missing ventilation inlet.
Non existing bathroom ventilation. Clothes and towels hard to dry.
No Ice dispenser trays for five days. Bring your own.
Was told we were able to order Hamburger kids meal all night, but turns out they only wanted to serve sausages so we suddenly got four grumpy kids. To make up for it they got to get somerhing from the buffet.
Spent 20K there, but could not get a free tea bag to the hot water.
Expect several visits to the reception cause door lock cards malfunctions at any time.
Buying a bottle of soda costs 48 NOK, or 30 from the dispenser.
Road uo the mountain is gravel, so expect to drive really slow if you value the paint job or suspension.
Hot tubs either too hot or too cold. Also costs 30NOK per 15 mins.
Orders in the resturant takes about one hour to get served.
Asked to change to a room with a view instead of looking into the hill begind the hotel, but they'd rather give them to bus tour passengers that comes in at 22 in the evening and leaves 8 next mornung. yo know, the people that don't have the energy nor time to...
Read moreWhen got down from our bus in front of the hotel, our driver said "welcome to Paradise" and as soon as I set foot outside i knew it was so true. I have never been to a place so quiet, so calm, so serene. We went inside the hotel and it has this huge antique looking lobby. The reception staff are very kind and helpful. The room are wonderful, looking out on to a green valley and blue blue blue sky. The elevator too give a awesome view of the valley while going up. The restaurant is nice and really liked the variety of food that has been served. After dinner, i decided to take a walk outside and a climbed the small hill behind the hotel and "oh my"!!!!!! You could see the entire valley from up there and the rows after rows of mountains. It's breezy there and it was sunny.....there are benches up there. I sat there, closed my eyes and it was just pure bliss. I hope I'd visit this place...
Read moreIf you have seen the shining, you'll feel familiar at this hotel. In a rural location in the middle of nowhere lies this luxury hotel, still classy but clearly past its prime. Wandering through these halls you could almost hear the soft metallic clicking of jack Nicholson's character, the tapping of polished shoes to the rhythmic sounds of big room and cackled laughs of businessmen as they get slowly stoned at the piano bar.
As for the accommodation: the hotel has many features which can all be found on the website. The staff is professional and courteous, the food plenty and adequate. The hotel is child friendly, though because of the hotel's personality i wouldn't exactly call it appealing...
