If you want to see the northern lights, this is the place to come. Spectacular scenery, no lights, and breath taking beauty. The lodge is cozy, handling 16 people at a time. There are beautiful common areas to sit and read or socialize, and we all ate together for breakfast and dinner. The food quality is extremely high, and the people who run the lodge are very nice and efficient. Veronika organizes all of the activity, and Graham makes it happen, whether it’s snowshoeing, cross country, skiing, sled dog riding, snowmobiling, or while watching. There are indoor and outdoor saunas here, and it’s just a great time for everyone. They time it so most of the visitors arrive and depart at the same time, so you get to make new friends and share all the fun. Be sure to go at least four days so you have a better chance of having clear skies on a couple of them.

There aren’t words to describe how incredible this place is. Elizabeth, one of the owners has been immensely helpful during the booking, she gave us lots of tips for our trip to northern Norway. The stay at Lyngen was one of the best experiences I’ve ever had. The lodge is very luxurious, beds incredibly comfy, everything is spotless. The 3 course dinner prepared by chef Marianne was such a pleasant fine dining experience. Views from the jacuzzi are the best. Staff is so friendly and made our stay even more special. If the budget allows I can’t recommend this place enough. I will defiantly come and stay again and again.

Severely overpriced location, at $1,098.20 USD per night, with lame and inexperienced tour staff. Better find a local hotel near Troms and explore yourself. We were promised 2 activities from the brochure. The owners offered none citing weather (clear skies, a slight beeze, and high of 25 degF). Instead we spent the first day on a 3 hour trip to a lame island walk with a rookie who was new to the area. Elisabeth nor Leah made an appearance. No mistaking Olderdalen is beautiful. This facility is misleading and not worth the cost. Ask questions and read the brochure carefully before coming.

It’s an absolute pleasure to write a review about my stay at Lyngen Lodge.

I found the Lodge in the book „Remote Hotels“ published by National Geographic. I was looking for a getaway in Scandinavia for quite some time and the Lodge seemed like a perfect combination between relaxation and adventure.

My expectations got more than fulfilled.

I stayed four days at Graham’s Lodge. The communication beforehand with Maria has been lovely and professional at all times. She advised me on my stay in Tromso, arranged the transfer to the lodge, provided a list of equipment I should bring with me,..

Once picked up at my hotel in Tromso the shuttle bus drove us to the Lodge where we checked in and got spoiled with a fantastic first dinner.

The whole atmosphere at the Lodge is really personal and intimate. You get introduced to the whole staff including your groups personal host and chef for the stay. In general all staff members are professional, skilled, friendly and welcoming.

The quality and selection of food is astonishing and creative. The kitchen of the lodge uses mainly local ingredients which I found incredibly delicious and interesting to taste.

The lodge in general is clean and modern and beautifully located within the Lyngen Laps. The furniture is stylish yet comfortable and useful. The rooms are well equipped (floor heating, rain shower) and cozy.

I personally highly recommend all activities such as dog sledding, snow mobile cruising and frozen lake fishing as well as the sea safari. All tours are guided by native Norwegians which connects you even more with the country and people there.

There's really nothing to criticize about my stay at Lyngen Lodge. I've never been more happy to review a hotel I stayed in and I therefore warmly recommend to stay at Lyngen...

It is difficult to resume in short words the wonderful experience we had at Lyngen Lodge, a fine small luxury adventure lodge within a breathtaking Fiord location! The staff were at all times very friendly, discrete and well skilled in their fields of service. The chef and his team prepared some of the best gourmet meals we have had in a long time. Simply delicious. They were well balanced and creatively prepared with much dedication and profesional love, you can feel and taste it. The owners, Graham, Veronica and their lovely and smart son Finnly were exceptionally nice and interesting persons, and warm hosts. They made you feel as been part of their family. The tours were well organized and we could hike and navigate with their Yacht to see some beautiful places, mountains, waterfalls, and villages. The rooms and bathrooms were small, clean but comfortable. The spacious dinning an living room areas where designed with great taste in a fine and causy Nordic style. Since we shared the same large dinning table with other gusts we meet some very interesting people of all parts of the world that lead to some friendly and very interesting talks and experiences sharing. The Lodge and gardens are very well maintained and the views from the the Lodge are just magnificent and internal peace inspiring, it definitely shows the best of the incredible natural beauty of Norway! We are planning to go next year again with all our family to see the Northern lights ( Aurora Borealis) since apparently this is one of the best places in the world to see them, and do some dog slatting as well. Thank you Lyngen Lodge for this wonderful experience, and a especial big hug to Finnly ! We highly...

A really lovely lodge in a beautiful part of Norway.|The lodge has more than ample communal space, but quite small rooms (tip: we got a room with single beds to give us a bit more room).|Everyone else staying the same time as us seemed to be quite similar people so everyone got on well, though if you’re not someone who likes to be social the majority of the time I think you might struggle a bit (unless you stay in your room).|The food is great, a constantly changing menu of mainly local fish or meat (reindeer), & a veggie alternative if you don’t like what’s on offer & flag it in advance.|Breakfast has a really wide range of different choices that puts many hotels to shame.|Sauna & hot tub were very nice too.|The activities included are very good, much better than I expected - particularly the husky sleds.|We also did the whale tour & were lucky enough to see a pod of Orca feeding on herring for a long time.|We were there for Northern Lights - which is obviously out of their control - but were lucky enough to see them every night we were there||Faults? As a bloke who is 6ft 2 the shower was just miniscule & water flooded the bathroom floor as I pushed the doors open moving my arms, though the shower in the sauna was much better so I used that instead. |The lodge was very (too?) warm, so indoors you’ll be fine in shorts & tshirt even when snow on the ground & below zero. Come prepared.|However, no big deal at all, & delighted when that’s all I can think of on a trip that was otherwise close to perfect.||The acid test: would I go...
