Quite a big hotel situated beside the E6 road between Oslo City and the Gardermoen Airport (OSL). The hotel itself is spacious and has a very big conference facility. The rooms themselves are comfortable and big enough and has tv, place for a laptop and a water cooker with tea and coffee (strangely enough they do not have creamer at the hotel). Downstairs the restaurant area is bigger than it seems at first eye and the breakfast has quite a lot of choice. There is also a coffee machine that produces Latte etc. there and availlable packages of cream if you miss your white coffee missing from your room. The staff are friendly and helpful! Check the way you get there: If you are by car, there is free parking and the huge white building is easy to find next to the E6. We took the train from the airport to Oslo and stepped out in Lillestrøm stasjon and then took bus 340 (or 380) to Olavsgaard which is next to the hotel. We did however take the wrong 340 bus on our way back and almost lost our flight so make sure and ask if it is going...
Read moreHaving paid so much, we did expect a lot more in return for our money. We have been in cheaper 2 stars with better standard,
For example, our beds were not done in the morning (not major, I can make my own bed). However a big drawback was when we felt it was too dirty for being anything above 2 stars. Another thing, we found old hairs in the beds, which made us feel uncomfortable (because if that is what we CAN see, then what bugs are hidden here we can NOT see).
TV had no international channels, strange for a Hotel to not consider foreign clients, and the only channel left that I wanted to watch had no sound (all other channels did work, so it was not a HW fault).
At least they do not have carpeted rooms, so their wooden floors should be easier to clean.
One big positive surprise was the dinner & breakfast, it was fabulous, very good quality + varied, very much better than I expected.
Shame about the price/cleanliness ratio, since such a high price and such low hygiene brought our entire...
Read moreEven though i spend only 1 night at the hotel, I am pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. 1st glance of the building have me the thought that I'll spend the night in an old hotel (with everything that goes with leaving in an old building. .) But inside is all renovated and look modern while keeping the old building touches visible in a good blend of past and present . The room was very nice and even though the mattress was in the soft side for my personal preference.. I slept like a freaking rock, without any surround noise or distractions over night :) and the breakfast had for my taste , unlimited choices.. I totally recommend for people to come and stay there. Keep up the...
