The fabulous view from each of the glass-sided cabins is enough to outweigh the minor inconveniences. The main one of these (given that I visited in high summer) was the fact that the cabin became too warm for comfort in the morning sunshine. This was exacerbated by the fact that the placement of the air-conditioner/heater unit was right on the back wall of the entrance vestibule, already the coolest spot in the cabin, but from where it had little impact, even on full-blast and with the ventilator on full-blast as well. The kitchen was well appointed with appliances, though what is the point of a large dishwasher in a cabin for 2 or max. 3 people and with only a handful of plates and bowls anyway? Other kitchen equipment was just about adequate, but a frying pan with no spatula and a fancy oven with no ovenware, not even disposable foil ones, were a bit pointless. The oven was just about usable for making toast, but then a toaster would have done the job better! Constant hot water and a nice shower room with underfloor heating were a bonus and I'm sure make the place inviting in winter. The worst issue, outside of the owners' control, is the apalling state of the road from Lyngseidet, which may be fine for vehicles with robust suspension, but could do a lot of damage if you don't drive very carefully for pretty much the whole 10 km. On-site novelties such as the NATO fortifications and the Aurora Spirit distillery into which they have been partly incorporated (distillery tour and tasting definitely recommended) add to the experience. Finally, some additional outdoor tables and seating would not go amiss. There is a barbecue with picnic table on the rocks, but this is really suitable only for one group of guests at a time. Because of the heat, I moved some chairs to the tiny outdoor deck, but something more inbuilt for outdoor dining, like a foldaway table and chairs, would be a nice addition. The wifi was poor, but this is due to the sub-standard routers, not the phone network itself, because my computer worked at high speed using the phone network directly. As I say the view, makes up for all of the deficiencies, but with a little more planning the place could be seriously fabulous in other...
Read moreI went on this cruise with my mother and we were absolutely delighted from start to finish. The genuine hospitality and kindness of the entire Aroya team really stood out — they took such good care of passengers at every step. From the smooth organization and clear updates about the program to little thoughtful details like helping us when stepping from the boat onto the pier and even the warm compliments from the security staff when disembarking — everything made us feel truly welcomed.||Our cabin was always spotless thanks to the hardworking housekeeping staff, who not only did their job perfectly but also greeted us with real warmth and care.||Entertainment on board was amazing! We loved the morning dance workouts (the instructors were full of energy and positivity), the concerts on the 6th floor, and the evening shows in the amphitheater. Every performance was professional, fun, and uplifting.||Food on board deserves a special mention — it was simply outstanding! Every dish and drink exceeded our expectations in both quality and variety. We enjoyed every bite and it was honestly one of the highlights of the trip.||We also really appreciated the Be Different cosmetic products provided on board. They were excellent quality — so much so that we wanted to buy them, but unfortunately couldn’t find where to do so.||Overall, the entire Aroya team impressed us with their professionalism, teamwork, appearance, friendliness, and dedication. We are very grateful to all of them for making this cruise such a wonderful experience. We’re already looking forward to sailing with Aroya again this winter, and we can’t wait to see the new itineraries for 2026!||Highly recommend this cruise to anyone who values great service, excellent entertainment, and unforgettable...
Read moreThe cabins are absolutely beautiful... Secluded, awesome view, peace!||The drive to the cabins from the airport was not easy in the snow after dark but was doable. We were mesmerized by the view when we entered the cabin. No words can describe that feeling. |The room and bathroom were spotless, minimally decorated, kitchen had what you would need for quick meals. |We were able to enjoy playing in the snow outside the cabins to our heart's content. Fresh, soft, white snow and tons of it!!!!||We had booked a room with Jacuzzi but didn't use the Jacuzzi. We also didn't get to see the aurora from the room. There is a lot of light pollution across the lake ( there is a road with lights and vehicles keep passing even late at night) which was not expected. I had thought it was away from all the lights so would help with the aurora, but that was not the case. We saw some light green lights at one point but not sure if it was aurora. ||We enjoyed our stay and would go back to the cabins again. ||We had lunch at Go2 Arctic Grill twice while staying here. The food was delicious and owner was a nice person to chat with. |We went for dog sledding one day while staying here. We went with Lyngen Safari and had a great experience with the dogs. They were so energetic and happy to be running in the snow. We were also served an authentic meal afterwards. The woman running the safari was an impressive, hard-working person. |We went for aurora tours when we got back to the Tromso city and saw beautiful dancing auroras in...
