Check-in was easy, prices however where quite expensive considering we paid €34 per night for a medium sized tent, two people and a car. They charged us extra for each person, while we already paid for a medium tent (which is 3-4 people according to their form). Also it seems quite counter intuitive to charge extra every night for car parking, considering there really is no other way to reach the camping. But I guess it’s nice to have the option for hikers/bikers so they don’t unnecessarily pay for a car. The services where fine, the shared kitchen had quite a few stoves although there where not a lot of pans (keep in mind you need induction equipment as the kitchen does not use gas). The showers and toilets are okay, however they can be quite gross at times (at least for males). There are two service buildings, one is closest to the reception which only has two showers and two toilets (4 total for males and females). They also have washing machines here but we did not use them. The shared kitchen is also located in this service building. The toilets are always open (you need a new code every day after 12 for all services), the showers are closed between 12-14 and the shared kitchen is closed from 12-14 as well. The second service building has way more toilets and showers, probably 3-4x more. However it is closed from 12-18. This is quite annoying as it is a large part of the day which then causes there to only be two toilets and showers available. It also means that between 12-14 you cannot shower at all. The location is great, the view is nice depending on your spot on the camping, and the ferry to Bodø is located right in front of the camping which is ideal if you are traveling through. The bar is nice as an option, however it is extremely overpriced. I paid more than €8 for a standard 0,3l of 1664 beer. (Normally max €3 in stores). It feels too much like they are just trying to squeeze more money out of your pocket while you’re already paying high prices for the camping itself. The camping itself can be quite noisy and doesn’t really have any rules, at least so it seems. Don’t expect anybody to be respectful about sleeping times or noise, if you want a quiet and relaxing camping then this camping is not for you. The employees themselves were fine, by no means unfriendly but also certainly not overly kind. Oh and the WiFi was so slow it was basically negligible, at least during our stay. Tried a few times at the reception with perfect reach but even messages would barely send.

Stayed in a tent. Big service building, but womens restroom only has two stalls which is ridiculous in reality.. So theres usually a queue outside the ladies’ restroom. Also, the paper was out most of the time. No hand paper. Showers are separately behind another door. You tap the button and get water for about 5 seconds, ecological but very annoying. No tap, just a shower head. Kitchen has an oven, microwave, stove and a small fridge. Pack your items in a plastic bag and write on a paper your check-out date, so it wont get thrown away and it’s easier to find your own items. Very popular (due to the location next to the ferry!) and it got very loud over the evening and people were smoking and cooking. It was like some 70’s music festival. But it was calmer on the outskirts of the area, on the hills. Nice fenced playground for kids. Otherwise wouldnt say it’s kid-friendly! Very hard to take a swim on the actual camp site. But there are sandy beaches in the Lofoten, like Kalkvika. As a conclusion: it’s very popular and you get what comes with it and it’s not maintained according to the crowds but according to the clock.

Loved to stay at this campsite! There are people who will always complain about something but my friends and I were very happy about everything. The campsite is at a beautiful location and if you don’t like crowds you can find hidden spots to pitch your tent with gorgeous views of sea & mountains. The owners/staff are very helpful, friendly and kind, including the barman who makes lovely food and drinks, and tells some local stories. The facilities are really nice and clean, there are more than 2 showers (someone previously mentioned there were not enough) and I never had to wait or queue. It is rare to find other camping places with these kind of ‘luxuries’ on the islands so during our two week holiday we ended up returning every few days. The shop sells maps of Lofoten, some basic food and even some clothes or gifts, and you can buy coffee in the mornings which is a nice bonus. Nearby there are bigger shops selling food and camping equipment as you walk towards Ä or Reine. Ferry and bus stops are just two minutes walk from the campsite. Thank you for everything I will be back one day for sure! Petra

Not recommended for tenters! If you cannot find any other place it’s ok to stay here but don’t expect too much. Very overcrowded as there are hardly any other campgrounds within the area.

The kitchen’s got no places to sit, only a few spots outside within this rather big campground to actually sit down to eat your food when you don’t have the luxury of a motorhome. Only two of those spots outside are roofed, considering it rains a lot, this planning was quite silly. But of course the campground is aware of this and has a (rather always empty) pub where you can get a pizza for 200NOK. No consumption of your own food allowed, naturally. The staff was no help when we were asking about any spots to consume our meal, and only suggested to ask others to leave the two roofed spots. They actually got quite rude when we were asking if it might be possible to buy some beverages at the pub so we could eat our food there, considering it was completely deserted...

Kitchen always smelled quite bad, but the bathrooms were nice and spacious (although some extra chairs and tables in the rather big entrance area would make it nicer, seems like they don’t want people inside for too long in general...). No extra payment for the showers, however the water only runs for not even 3 sec, so you basically need to hold the button constantly.

So, if you re going to stay in a tent and the weather forecast predicts some rain, then you’ll better consider a...

Horrific staff that work here, disgustingly rude and condescending both times I have been. Don’t bother staying if you don’t need electricity because you will be denied the only positive of this campsite - a nice view you can only get from about 10 spaces. You will be crammed into a sardine can car park by reception or worse. Big groups of tenters encouraged to be loud and disturbing until early in the morning, playing music and shouting with no one enforcing quiet hours. Clogging common areas and toilets to hang out and charge devices.

The facilities are comedically inadequate for the hundreds of people staying here. 6 toilets per gender for about 300 people. Last time I was here, the campsite was completely full and only 2 toilets were open, but I was basically spat on and denied for requesting opening the second service building because it was a day past their advertised peak season. There are queues out the door for the toilets but no toilet paper in any of them and no soap in the night and not refreshed in the morning. They close the biggest service building all night and most of the day for “cleaning” leaving only 2 toilets. If you stay up the top end then goodluck trying to reach them. Sliding down a steep muddy bank at night, I’m surprised they don’t have a lawsuit already.

Disappointed but not surprised to see nothing has changed 2 years on. A money grabbing horror show to be boycotted. Not even as a last resort near Reine....
