We were a group of 12 staying and having a seminar at this old traditional guesthouse from the 1880ies for two nights. It's about 40 minutes drive from Oppdal city. The landscape is fantastic, and border Trollheimen nature reserve protected area. You can rent rooms or cabins, and I personally stayed in a room with bathroom. Clean, quite and modern. Food was served in the old modernised barn, and the food for lunch and dinner were really fantastic - like gourmet! Do try the trout and lamb! They also serve wine and beer perfectly adjusted to the different courses served. An amazing stay highly recommended if spectacular nature, good food and relaxing recreation...
Read moreThe veranda view of the majestic mountains of Trollheimen was spectacular The small cabins were well equipped and the beds gave us a good nights rest. The toilet and shower is only steps away in the next building. The Sauna is included in the room price. The sauna smoked lamb, creme brûlée and the Norwegian Brownie with the soft middle were fantastic. Our breakfast rolls were heavenly and the chicken eggs from American Chickens very good. Read moreWhat a gem! This property has been in the family for seven generations and is still managed by the original family members. We had a WONDERFUL meal here of smoked lamb. The accommodations are charming, rustic and sit on the edge of a National Park. We only spent one night but should have stayed more. Don't expect to find many Americans here, Norwegians, on the other hand, know about this place...
