This hotel was a bit of a let down, I suspect being the only hotel in town gives you a bit of freedom. We were in a 'suite' as there were 2 adults and two children. The kids beds were in the same room, but in a dark 'corridor' of some type. The room was basic, and looked like I suspect it did in the 70's. I had read that the hotel did nice meals and had a Chinese menu, however when we asked about it we were told that they we not doing that this week. The breakfast was poor, from a little thing like the flickering fluro bulb in the open top fridge cabinet, which made it hard on the eyes to look at, the meat that had been there over night and not quite covered resulting in a dried out strip. I here was basic breads and cereals. Could have killed for a plain cup of tea, but closest was earl grey and small coffee cups. Staff were functionary, but certainly not warm or engaging. All in all the hotel reflected the town, a bit dull, served a basic purpose, but don't go out...
Read moreThe good - ||Rooms were modern, clean, comfortable and quiet||Shower was good||Hotel staff were friendly||Stayed on the 4th floor and had no problem with the lift.||||The bad - ||Connected to the free WiFi and my account was hacked. Facebook was hacked by a Russian hacker sending all of my contacts a fake link about cheap sunglasses. I only realised there was a problem, when I tried to connect to Google and it warned me that the connection was unsafe.||Breakfast was bad. I didn't eat any of it. The hard fried eggs had been cooked fresh probably around 6:30, but I went to breakfast at 8:30. The buffet was meats and fish leftovers from the day before. The bread was stale. The hot water was fairly cold. There was no breakfast tea. The lady got some milk after we asked for it. I ended going to the bakers across the road and paying for breakfast. Most reviews before mine comment on the bad breakfast and they were right, even though the manager will say that everything is fresh...
Read moreKløver hotell Centrally located in the middle of Sauda, it old and expensive to stay her, certainly not 4 stars level. Got upgraded room to a suite, but it was big and not pretty. Two double beds next to each other, an old leather lounge and a TV that does not work. ||Bathroom with the most necessary surfaces that were not painted and a lot of wear marks. The windows against the fjord destroyed and filled with water, so the view was cloudy. The rest was also slim, the table edge was dusty.||The people who worked were nice, but the place is very run down. Can understand it's tough to run hotels in small places, but here the number of stars should be graded down - so you could be informed of very simple standards. Hotel rooms need to be refurbished. Positively for art enthusiasts, the hotel had many works and copies of Sauda artist and painter...
