This is a character property of a certain age, so whilst it has undergone some modern upgrades, such as modern bathroom fittings, a sprinkler system and good beds, that doesn’t change the small sizes of the rooms and the historic look and style of the hotel which is very much a part of its’ charm. There were chairs in our room, adequate storage, no noise from the neighbouring rooms and a great view.|There are multiple downstairs seating areas including an undercover balcony at the side of the house looking to the mountains beyond, and an outdoor area at the rear of the hotel where most guests enjoyed drinks on arrival followed by an evening meal. We don’t eat after late afternoon but the food coming out from the kitchen both looked and smelled gorgeous. |The owner has many maps for the local area and can help with discussing drives, hikes and other local activities. Breakfast had a good range of choices including fresh fruit which is often absent. Herbal tea was also present and much appreciated as I don’t drink caffeine.|We enjoyed our stay and would stay again....

Interesting that several other reviews from different travellers at different times also mention the same problem. We went in to look at the accommodation, small rooms small beds old showers and bathrooms, generally run down and ready for an upgrade, suffice to say bad enough for all 8 of us to decline to stay. If you’re on holiday and want a disappointment then this...

The hotel owner Erik gives you the best service and is very generous. It shows that he works hard and likes what he's doing, despite the fact that he recently took over the hotel. The only point of improvement is that the breakfast rituals could've been smoother (Erik was not working at that point), but the staff's friendliness make up for it.
We slept in room nr. 5 and 7 and I have nothing to complain about. Very soft beds, free WiFi and a TV we could connect to our Netflix.
The atmosphere is elegant and cozy, which the style in the lobby and dining room reflects.
The hotel is overall very charming and we felt we could relax and enjoy because Erik took good care of us. Thank you for the experience, Erik! See you...
