My husband and I had been traveling in a camper van for three weeks and luckily found this fabulous site. We were thrilled with the possibility of camping here because the views were out of this world, but my husband had been dealing with Bronchitis and really needed a rest. When we asked the owner Tore if he had any rooms available he showed us this wonderful suite with three bedrooms, full kitchen and living room and two baths overlooking the striking views of the valley. Plus, it had a sauna!! Just perfect for rehabbing. We were in love and stayed three nights. I had been cooking in our tiny camper so when we got to experience the hotels restaurant for dinner, we were thrilled with the delicious meal and the friendly staff there. I loved the kitchen in our unit and did our cooking here as well. It is fully equipped and so open. Tore was so helpful in helping us also plan two days of hiking in the park which was perfect for us. Hiking here is like being on another planet and we were in love with it. We live in California, but would love to return someday to experience this magical place once again. Thank you Tore so much for our fantastic visit. You have created an amazing place for visitors to fully see Rondane...
Read moreWe stayed 2 nights to conclude our Norway trip. It is a 20-minute drive from Otta. The hotel situates at a relative higher point in the vicinity. We were assigned to Room 4 and the view was excellent towards Rondane especially at sunset. There is a small platform outside for sitting and enjoy the scene in open air. There are a lot of lawns around the houses. The last night of our stay was a Friday and there were some caravans parked at the lawns. The room was very comfortable, though the TV and radio did not receive well. The Wifi worked OK but busy at times (after dinner). We met a group of senior citizens having their reunion of some sort. There are sitting areas to enjoy coffee / tea after the meal. Food for first night was buffet and was excellent, with lots of choices. Bread in breakfast is freshly baked. In the first evening the sky was relatively clear with some clouds and the reflection of the sunset by the clouds...
Read moreWe were booked here by our tour operators for 3 nights. When we arrived we were greeted by the owner Tore, who could not have been nicer. He had all kinds of great suggestions for hiking. There are a ton of choices which you can get to from the hotel. Our room was very nice, clean and bright. Plentiful hot water and super Wifi. The meals were good too. We had 2 buffet dinners which were lovely and one sit down meal. The breakfast buffet was great and we made our lunch sandwiches from it as well. Coffee is available throughout the day and it was great. The staff were all wonderful but had limited English which was not a problem since Tore is fluent. There were lots of people, mostly from Norway staying at this place. All in all, just a wonderful place in a lovely part of Norway. Highly...
