I recently had the pleasure of staying at Clarion Energy Hotel in Stavanger, and my experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment I arrived, the friendly and professional reception staff made me feel welcome. They were incredibly helpful, always ready to assist with any inquiries, and provided excellent recommendations for exploring the city.
The cleanliness of the rooms was outstanding. The housekeeping team maintained a high standard, ensuring that everything was spotless and well-organized throughout my stay. The rooms were spacious, modern, and equipped with all necessary amenities for a comfortable stay.
One of the highlights of my visit was the breakfast—easily one of the best I have ever had in a hotel. The selection was impressive, featuring a variety of fresh and high-quality options, catering to all dietary preferences. The restaurant and bar hours were also convenient, allowing guests to enjoy great food and drinks at any time of the day.
For those who prioritize fitness, the hotel offers a well-equipped gym, which was a great bonus. It had everything needed for a proper workout, making it easy to stay active during the trip.
Another major advantage of Clarion Energy Hotel is its location. It is situated close to a bus stop, making transportation around Stavanger easy and convenient. The bus connections allow for a quick and hassle-free journey to both the city center and Stavanger Airport, making it an ideal choice for both business and leisure travelers. Additionally, it is within walking distance of Stavanger Tennis Club and DNB Arena, perfect for sports enthusiasts.
Overall, Clarion Energy Hotel is a top-notch choice for anyone visiting Stavanger. The friendly staff, cleanliness, fantastic breakfast, excellent facilities, and prime location make it a hotel I would highly recommend—and...
Read moreI stayed for 2 nights over easter April 2025. ||I parked nearby under the Stavanger Ishall at P-Siddis (Stavanger Parkering) which is about 250 meters from the hotel to the east. The good part here is if you pay through the hotel it is 140 NOK/day, and you are allowed in-and-out privileges. This is important since many hotels offer parking but the daily maximum often restarts every time you leave the garage which can quickly add up if you are coming and going throughout the day with a car.||The hotel itself is about 10 years old and kept to a high standard. Rooms were of decent size and comfort. I could not get my phone to cast to the TV, and the minibar fridge was broken, two disappointments. ||The other guests were mostly on business, likely employed in the oil industry. I imagine there are many people staying here during events in the nearby arenas and sports venues. The hotel is definitely geared towards business stays and event stays, although it does work well for a vacation stay too.||The breakfast very very good, with quality ingredients and a good variety.||E-bikes are right outside and are for rent through the Kolumbus app, being the city's transit authority. There are many e-bike parking stations scattered throughout the city. It took me about 10 minutes to ride to downtown Stavanger, and another 10 minutes to ride to Sverd i Fjell (swords). The bike trails are very good.||There are good city bus connections to downtown as well, from the stop located right outside the hotel. Otherwise the location is OK. There is an AMFI Madla shopping mall 500m to the west which has some places to eat, otherwise there are not many eating options nearby.||Overall my stay was good and I would stay here again, although next time I would switch rooms immediately once I discovered the mini bar was not...
Read moreI’m writing this after a deeply unpleasant and frankly surreal encounter with the hotel’s general manager, Gjermund Dahl. What was supposed to be a simple and calm conversation about a hotel gift card turned into an unprovoked tirade, marked by personal attacks, irrelevant deflections, and an overall tone that was condescending, defensive, and outright disrespectful.||||I’ve met hundreds, if not thousands, of people through work, studies, and travel. Almost every interaction has been constructive, professional, and respectful. Gjermund was an exception.||||At 23, I walked away from that table as the calm and composed adult in the room — a role the GM himself clearly failed to take on. Instead of professionalism, I was met with hostility and accusations that I was the problem. Gjermund's tone, attitude, and unwillingness to engage in a civil conversation were flat-out unacceptable.||||Even my partner, who sat nearby and overheard parts of the conversation, was shocked by how the GM conducted himself.||||It’s unfortunate to see someone in a leadership role behave this way, but I take comfort in knowing that the industry is evolving, and outdated, abrasive personalities like his are being phased out. I doubt I’m the first to leave a meeting with this GM feeling disrespected, and I certainly won’t...
