“Quality” isn’t exactly what I’d say about this hotel. Especially when talking about the standard of the hotel rooms. Extra disappointing that the “superior” room was a hugely inferior to any other hotel room (matching price or less). This place badly needs a renovation and upgrading. No bathroom ventilation, the drain was clogged and water flowing all over the floor. No minibar, electricity, wall sockets and lamps would undoubtedly not approved by today’s regulations. No soap in the dispensers, the windows / view filtered through a thick layer of filth. Well, I really like choice hotels, but this one is clearly not on their priority list. Nevertheless, the staff was very friendly, and the lobby quite nice with local beer selection and a few liquor drinks. I didn’t try the restaurant, but the breakfast was amazing. Huge, delicious buffet with a tasty selection of local products. I guess they deserve a more precise explanation regarding to my rating. Room standard: 1 Service: 4 Breakfast: 5 Price: 2 @Petter Stordalen - this place would shine if you spend a few bucks to upgrade the rooms. Your staff and guests...
Read moreSuperior room, nice, i like. Very basic, theres only a tv (few channels), a tiny fan, a coffee maker, cups and glasses, and a blow-drier. No minibar/refrigerator and no phone, also no comb or toothbrush. Bar/resto is seasonally closed. Im fairly ok with all these things, just to inform those who need more, i do too sometimes, depends how i travel. Breakfast is very good, not perfect but anyone can eat well here. The two biggest problems was the small potatoes that wasnt fried, just boiled and rolled in hot butter - should have been fried wedges(!!) or hashbrown, and the sausages were so cheap tasting, completely unsuitable for breakfast and had same problem as the potatoes: boiled, not fried. Theres a steakhouse resto just around the corner (turn left in the mainstreet, really close) and a bar (opens 9pm) just after the steakhouse. There is a 7/11 in the Yx station you can see to the left from mainstreet when at the hotel corner, i bet you can get everything you need there, walking distance. So location...
Read moreDifficult to understand that this was rented out and offered to us, in a well-reputed hotel in a company. Certainly not associations with pleasant and Strawberry worthy. This was on the 5th floor, no view, damp damage and run down. Went to reception and asked for a new room, had booked for 3 nights - fortunately got a new room on the 3rd floor. Staff nice and helpful, breakfast staff efficient, friendly and professional. The stay was ok, but disgusting to know that much of the building was so damaged. The hotel was the only one we found in town, should definitely be upgraded. Many dog owners with dogs stayed at the hotel, thinking there was a dog show in town - but no, the hotel was only...
