Week Five- Norway 🇳🇴 📍 Gaustablikk, Fjellresort. If you a have a dog and you’re a skier, you have to see where we went for week 5! This was the most beautiful dog friendly hotel I’ve ever been to! This week we were actually away skiing, and of course, we had to book a dog friendly hotel. We actually didn’t have the dogs with us as I’m a beginner and need to focus on learning, and they also hate the cold! But we still needed to get our dog fix for the week! When I say this place is dog friendly, I’ve never been anywhere so welcoming of dogs, they treat them like they are paying guests. Places they can go include the reception/lounge area, Kirk’s bar, hotel rooms, stova (restaurant right on the slope!) , the bakerie, and obviously the slopes. The only places they can’t go are the à la carte restaurant, the spa, the outdoor sauna and the frozen lake- for obvious reasons! #dogfriendly #dog #ski #dogfriendlytravel #skiresort @Gaustablikk

:) They offer a lovely free tourist ski shuttle bus service up and down the Rjukan / Tinn valley stopping at all the bus stops called Guastaekspressen. They even offer shuttle service between chairlifts. Especially as these can close doing on the weather and winds up and down the valley. The ski centre does look lovely. We enjoyed experiencing the giant soft snow piles just outside the skicenter and to watch the skiers and as well to see the ice formations and ice climbers along roadway up to the ski center. So neat. Highly recommended for a family activity :)

Breathtaking nature and views, BUT terrible inconsistency in navigation!!! The slopes map contains non-existing slopes including green ones (e.g. 10th, upper part of 22th), which makes beginners experience very bad!!! Also there should be more signposts on the ground and larger maps. In addition, slopes classification is a bit frustrating since a lot of green slopes feel like blue ones. I recommend going to other skisenters for example Geilo, where you will get much more pleasant experience for the money spent.

this hotel is totally okay. the staff were really nice, helpful and polite through the whole stay. the food was quite good on many occasions, i was for example served a beautiful veal with carrot pure and a really nice set up potato tower. the only critic i have about the food was when for dinner there was a cold bufe, i just thought that a bufe without any warm food was not fitting for dinner. the rooms were nice, they felt roomy and refreshing. the room was overall really tidy and clean. i also want to mention the magnificent view from my room.the only major complaint i have about my stay at this hotel has to be the staff, and by that i don't mean that they were mean or anything, but many of them could not speak proper Norwegian or English which resulted with a lot of miss communication. this is of course not the employees fault, but it still made my visit to the hotel kind of challenging at some points. there is also a lot i have not covered but i covered all that i participated in and experienced.

I hope you found...
