Buvik Sea Lodge — Hotel in Tromsø

Stayed here for three nights while on our Norway tour. Absolutely stunning place and beautiful location. Wake up to the fjord view in the morning and watch the northern lights at night, all from the balcony. ||The host Espen was amazing, he decorated the room ready for my arrival, (suprise 40th) which was a lovely touch and was very helpful in accommodating our needs, and pointed out things that were happening, (like reindeer outside the lodge) ||One of the most beautiful places we have stayed and we cannot recommend it enough! ||Important thoughts to consider, is 50 minute drive away from Tromsø, with no shops locally, so you need to take any provisions with you. ||Its a beautiful little gem....... Unfortunately we have heard that the owners are planning to flatten the lodge and build a hotel in it's place. My wife and I stayed at Buvik Sea Lodge for one night as part of our elopement trip to Northern Norway. The lodge is situated in a beautiful remote location about an hour's drive from Tromsø and Espen, the host, was extremely helpful and accommodating. The apartment was well designed, extremely cozy and it was great falling asleep to the sound of the waves. There's a jacuzzi and a sauna in a small building right next to the lodge with a beautiful view over the water that can be booked for your group. You also have the chance of seeing some wildlife - just the day before we arrived, a few reindeer had been taking refuge in the open area under the lodge to escape the heat!||||We wish we could have stayed longer, and would love to visit again. Don’t be fooled by previous evaluations. The place is now run down and dies not correspond to what it used to be. We stayed there two years ago and it was very nice, now everything is broken and not taken care of. The manager does not care about guests. They failed to tell that the water from the tap was not drinkable and they did not prepare the sauna which I had booked before and they had confirmed. They did not even answer WhatsApp messages. The only thing that is nice is the view. The floor in the kitchen had stains of someone’s feet! Half of lights not working in the bathroom. No shower gel. Some parts very dusty and dirty. Sauna’s window is broken and the changing facilities have water dropping in… And the price was totally...
