The campground is beautiful, totally picturesque right on a beautiful lake. Bikes and canoes are included with the cost of the stay. Additionally, the geographical location was perfect for exploring the area as it sits just nearly right in the middle of Lofoten on the eastern edge. People traveling to Lofoten should understand what a benefit this is. Not only is the weather a little milder on the eastern side, but we were equidistant from the farthest points, which made our travel planning much easier on days to Å and Svolvær. The campground is tucked away nicely into the woods, but quick and easy to access from the main road. ||||There were a variety of lodging options from one-room cabins to a 2 bedroom cottage to campsites and RV parking and even a tee-pee. We stayed in a 2-bedroom cottage. It was sparkling clean with every needed amenity. It had been recently renovated, along with some of the other cabins. The kitchen area was perfect. We even had an oven and good-sized refrigerator, as well as every pot, pan, plate, utensil, etc that we needed. We had our own private shower and bathroom, as well. There was a nice modern television, though I forbid anyone to watch it as we had no time for that, being in paradise for only a few days. We also had good WIFI, which was also mom-restricted. :) I believe it was free with the cost of our stay. ||||There was a shared laundry area we made good use of. If I had one complaint, it would be that it was difficult to nab a turn at the washer & dryer. It would be a good idea to get another set. ||||There was also a community center we didn't have time to enjoy, but it seemed like a popular place with soccer matches being aired and people just hanging out. For cabins not stocked with full kitchens, there was a community cooking area there with everything it seemed one might need to cook up some food. There were also community restrooms and showers, and the office rented very nice towels. The owner was really helpful as I was planning our trip -- very gracious about answering a million questions (our first time to Lofoten and Scandinavia, in general.) He also offered valued advice for hiking and dining once we finally made it there. ||||We are budget travelers and found this to be an excellent value -- ideal lodging for a visit to Lofoten. I don't know what we even could have missed by not staying somewhere more expensive. We just wish we could have stayed longer. Highly and whole-heartedly...
Read moreThe owner has some serious anger management issues and very hostile attitude towards their guests. If possible, avoid this place at all costs. I travel a lot and have never felt this unsafe and unwelcome in any place.
It is a slightly overpriced campsite with less than basic ammenities on a beatiful lake side. However, the owner should not work in hospitality industry. We arrived with a tesla and were first greeted with a loud natzi salute and were aggressively told to buy an actual car multiple times accompanied by some curse words. And to be clear: This did not feel like just a childish joke but he was dead serious and aggressive. This was my very first interaction with the owner. He did not even say hi. After this I avoided all contact with him because I did not feel welcome.
When leaving the place we went to ask some clarification for the final bill because there was some minor confusion with the EV charge cost but before I managed to properly ask my question I was loudly told to ”f* off”. This was just a normal customer service situation where he could have explained the bill but instead he went berserk in an instant. The situation felt violent and unsafe. Owner did not make a physical contact but I would not be surprised if he turned violent over some tiny arguments. Please avoid contact with him and visiting this place to stay safe.
On the first day they offered us an upgrade from small cabin to a large one which was nice but to be honest we felt unsafe and unwelcome to this place from the very first minute. Looking at other comments it looks like this aggressive and unfriendly behavior is repeating and now seeing at first hind how aggressive he can get in an instant without a proper reason, I strongly advice to avoid this place for your own safety. For the owner: I hope you would show appreciation towards your guests with words and kindness. No upgrade can cover direct insults and unsafe atmosphere.
Happy to remove this review if the owner apologizes his rude and unwelcoming behavior but, for the time being, please choose some other place and do not support this kind...
Read moreone of the most uncomfortable situations happened in this camping area. Me and my friend came to have a shower and paid for it. I decided to also wash our dishes. We had only few pans and I used the sink in the toilet area which was separated from the toilets. We didn't know that there was also a kitchen near by where dishes should have been washed. Next thing that I know is that the owner of the camping are storms into the toilets and screams at me curse words in finnish and explains that the dishes must be washed in the kitchen area. I tried to apologies and explain that I am really sorry, but he just kept shouting at me and he looked like he was ready to hit someone. I have never gotten this kind of customer service in my life. As a Tourism and Event management student I must say that I am really dissappointed how this camping area handles situations with customers and how they do not have any respect for people. I hope that in the future you will learn how to deal with these kind of situation and understand that we travellers are people with feelings. Next time be kind to your customers and guide us better with the...
