My cousin and I stayed at Voss Mountain Lodge while we were visiting Norway this last week. All in all we had a great experience. Everything was very clean and well kept and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. There was not a ton to do In the off-season, as the pool is closed. But we did enjoy a nice hike and the sauna as well! You can also take the train to Voss or flam for a day trip, which we enjoyed doing!! We thought that the dinner and breakfast were complementary based on the way it was advertised (possibly due to language translation) so we did get hit with a very high bill at the end of our stay. Just something to be aware of if you’re going. But there is a kitchen available to cook as well. The lodge is at the very bottom of a mountain if taking the train to get there, with a pretty steep and rocky path. It was fine for my cousin and I and if anything we enjoyed the hike, but it could be more challenging for those that have a more difficult time getting around or if you travel with multiple bags or large suitcases. The lodge really was gorgeous and the staff made it so pleasant! They also roast their own coffee on site which we enjoyed on...
Read moreWe really had a great time staying at Voss Moutain Lodge specifically due to the hospitality of the staff and the owner. Gabriela, the manager, was knowledgeable and always enthusiastic to provide necessary information to all the guests. She was all the time running around with lots of smiles. Thomas, the owner, is a super cool guy who looks like he came out of an adventure/wild magazine. He is a genuinely experienced hiker so do ask him if you have any questions at all. You would see him blend in with all his staff working hand in hand around the hotel. We stayed at the lodge for 2 nights and we found both breakfast and dinner way much better than we'd expected. The quality and the attention given to the meal preparation are overwhelmingly satisfied. We highly recommend this place to all nature explorers. One last important note, it is highly recommended that you do backpacking if you're arriving by train. The path from the Ørneberget train stasjon (resembling an abandoned bus stop ^ ^!) down to the lodge is quite steep and could be quite...
Read moreOur stay at Voss Mountain Lodge was fine all in all. The lodge serves both breakfast and dinner and you can pack a lunch at breakfast. The breakfast was a buffet which was fine and for dinner was a set dish every day including a vegetarian option. For dinner you can also buy drinks. All food and drinks you buy do cost extra and you pay for all this at the end of your stay. It is also possible to make your own food since there is a little kitchen and about 3 km away there is a small shop where you can get the essentials. We stayed in July 2025 and we could not see any heater in our room so the room got a bit cold this might be a bigger problem if staying in the winter. The curtains in the room are thin so they don’t keep all the light out. The mountain Lodge is located a beautiful location with good hiking routes all around. You can arrive either by car or by train. The train station is op a steep hill with difficult terrain and would be very hard/ impossible to go down...
