Nizwa souq including Nizwa Fort is located roughly 6km along front road of this hostel. There is nothing on the way to the souq. So I recommend you that it's comfatable to move with bus or taxi to get there.

I needed somewhere cheap and clean and convenient and got it. ||It is an Omani/Indian hotel, like a business hotel/guest house. We were two women (mum and daughter) traveling alone and felt safe and secure. ||It was a good price, not the flashiest of places, but OK. We had a big queen bed and should have asked for a twin room, but didn't. ||Room had an ensuite and a big TV with all the middle eastern TV channels - did find 2 English speaking ones though. ||We had rented a car and drove in from the South, we found it easily but look for the Hungry Bunny fast food outlet and the guesthouse is right next door. ||There is no lift and three floors, but lots of willing helpers to carry your bags. ||Breakfast included was basic but fills you up till lunch. ||It was good...

This is an ideal base to roam around Nizwa as it is pretty central if you have a car (very close to Nizwa Grand Mall and the Old Souk by car). The staff there are very accommodating, a special mention to Pradeep who made our stay peaceful, can't name the other staff members as I don't have all their names. The hotel itself is quite old and need some refurbishment but it offers everything a traveler needs (basic amenities that sometimes some hotel chains omit such as soap, shampoo, shower gel, body lotion, toothbrush and toothpaste, razor blade, slippers, bottles of water) and cleaninless.
