The Royal Garden Hotel فندق الحديقة الملكية — Hotel in Al Batinah North Governorate

Held a party for friends and family. The food was tasty and well cooked, the wait staff were polite and we'll behaved and hall had good ambience. But the HR and Accounts department people are dicey. They agreed to rate but charged a totally different rate. When I complained at the reception, I was told that the people handling the same were not available and to approach them the next day and that I would get my refund. The lady who had liasied with us agreed that the terms we had discussed and agreed to, but the payment asked for by them and made by us was different. But she refused to give us the refund as promised by the reception. Her attitude has left a bad taste in our mouths. Expat staff spoiling the reputation of such fine hotel in such a wonderful country. Hope someone connected to the hotel reads this and helps us get...

On a road trip from Muscat, we decided to sleep over Friday in Sohar, to spend the Saturday exploring. We visited various prospects, with my wife insisting every time to "see the room first". None within my budget got the nod of approval. I Googled. And found the Royal Garden Hotel offering a huge discount...||||Out of desperation I booked and paid online - UNSEEN!The hotel's streetfront is actually it's backside, worrying even me, and being verbalized from the passenger seat.||||Once we'd found the front entrance around the back, we realized that we had struck gold. Everything and more one would expect from a 4 star, for the price of 2 star accommodation! Friendly staff, beautiful room, fantastic price at 59% discount... ||||I would, however be stingier with all those stars at full price. Not THAT perfect at OMR 50 per...

Not a good place to stay, the staff was unprofessional and lazy, the didn't even know how to talk to the guests staying at the hotel, the number of guests was almost 0 , i was the only one staying there i did not sea any other person other than me, i too was trying to leave this hotel as soon as possible, the food quality was below average, the lighting of the hotel was worst, everywhere it was dark which made the hotel very unattractive, I would recommend the hotel owners either to hire completely different efficient and professional management or if not atleast train the prevailing management to make them up to the mark or simply shut down the hotel if you can't run it.

Had a bad overall experience, would never recommend...
