Mahalli - Old House Heritage — Hotel in Al Batinah South Governorate

Lovely place and great hospitality. Rich in history. Pretty basic (shared bathroom/mattresses on floor) but exactly what we were looking for. Really interesting village to walk round.

Attached to the Heritage Hotel is a rock climbing/snake canyon tour company. They were super professional/safe/fun and the trip down snake canyon was one of Oman top highlights.

We were met with amazing hospitality from the entire family - and what was supposed to be a quick lunch stop became coffee with dates, a walk around the village and lovely home cooked food 🥰 A great experience altogether. The only reason for the 4 stars was that we got slammed with a 20 OMR bill in the end which is more than 4 times what we’ve paid for food and coffee...

It is a great, beautiful place with good service because it is remote in the mountains. Accessible only with 4WD. If you are into hiking or canyoning, take two nights to have a full day in the area.
