We booked this place as we planned an excursion to Wadi Shab. We drove from Dubai and needed a place to rest. We've gotten a good deal on Agoda. Wouldn't be paying too much for a room that we won't spend so much time. This smallish hotel is 1.5 hrs drive from Muscat. It's located along the coast. The drive is beautiful during the day. So try to catch the daylight while driving in.
This hotel is conveniently located near Wadi Shab- a must visit if you're in the area.
The hotel: Nothing fancy so don't expect 5* ambience. Clean Newly refurbished toilets though sometimes water pressure is low but its ok. Reception was helpful though they spoke very little English. The bed was firm and really good when you've just done a whole morning of hiking and swimming in the wadi. We tried their dinner buffet, a smallish but good selection of food. The clam chowder soup was delicious. Fish and chips was very fresh and superbly cooked. Mutton masalla was very good, served with jeera rice. Whoever was in the kitchen wasn't just simply putting food on the table but the person cooks well.
We're going for a morning swim tomorrow and there's a cliff we can't...
Read moreProviding 3 star purely due to staff. They do alot with the little they are provided. This place needs investors that can turn this place around. Love the staff, amazing ppl. Zero stars for investors, full rating for staff. In short, price is high, and not much is provided to justify. I got a delux room, because regular room is shockingly below par. Wifi in all rooms does not work. Plastic doors, no bathtubs, no cold water (even if u switch off the boiler, the water stored there is hot) Delux rooms are poor and super minimalistic to point where u just want to go out. The resort doesnt offer any scuba, sun block, snorkeling, or anything besides food and room. Small swimming pool with rotten railing, but continuously cleansed by staff. The beach is public. Rooms are a 5 min walking distance from the public beach. The beach is all small rocks, no sand (walking barefoot is not recommended)
Wouldnt recommend the accomodations, but would recommend passing by to enjoy the friendly and curtious...
Read moreA hotel is undergoing maintenance work and any normal owner would close it for the time being. But not this one. We were not informed about the maintenance when we made reservation and were very disappointed with our stay. For comparison for the same amount of money paid here for one night (125€/night) we stayed for two nights in Hilton in Muscat and for just 20€ more one night in Kempinski Muscat with breakfast. And here we felt scammed consider the price. No swimming pool. No wifi not even in reception or “restaurant”. And the noise from old A/C in the room was so disturbing we switched rooms in the middle of the night. And considering the staffs reaction we weren’t the first guests to have done that. The staff is trying their best in the situation but that just isn’t enough. To sum up the things. Too much money to sleep in a construction site. Avoid as long as the works are...
