InterCityHotel Salalah — Hotel in Dhofar Governorate

We stayed in this hotel for one week over new years eve and we can highly recommend staying here. The whole hotel is very clean, the room is spacious and quiet. We had a kingsize bed, which was huge and very comfortable. They clean the room everyday if you want (or need) and provide you with two bottles of water free of charge, which is a nice gesture. Unfortunately, the only way to get fresh air is by using the AC, as you cannot open the window (which might be for safety reasons).

The hotel staff is very friendly and they were there for us whenever we needed them. Late check-in and check-out were no problem at all, which even made the first and last day of our vacation stressless and comfortable. They offer a wide variety of breakfast between 6:30am and 10:30am; vegetarian/vegan options available.

The hotel has a clean and nice rooftop pool which is perfect to sunbathe and relax. Fresh pool towels are available on a rack in the changing rooms. We also used the gym, which is clean and equipped with very basic machines and wheights. Only the cardio section has better quality. Enough to do some simple workouts.

Across the street you'll find a big supermarket (open until late night) and a rental car office. The hotel also has its own office to rent cars and book tours/excursions, but we didn't use it. The famous Al Qaboos Mosque is just 5mins away. The neighborhood (as well as the whole city) seems safe, even to walk around at night. It's a perfect place to explore the city, even though we recommend you rent a car to go to the beaches and Salalah surroundings.

During my recent stay at Intercity Hotel, I was thoroughly impressed with the level of service provided by the staff. I had the pleasure staying at the Intercity Hotel Salalah, Oman from January 20th to 25th January 18 It was a sheer pleasure from the start to the end Even arriving early in the morning, the staff was very friendly, professional and helpful and nothing was ever too much for them to be of any assistance. A special thank you goes to Mr Christy IOB, who runs the place like a clockwork and always with a smile, he even tries to learn the german language in his own time to provide a even better service. I would suggest the Steigenberger Hotels should reward such enthusiasm and support people like him. As a single female traveller i always felt safe, comfortable and respected.

I would also recommend the 5 Star Tours as they have the office in the foyer. I booked 4 tours with Mr Afsar and i cannot praise him enough. He was always professional, punctual, respectful and polite.

Yes, i strongly recommend the Intercity Hotel in Salalah, Oman and hopefully will be there again in near future.
