I would recommend Serene Glamping in Salalah to anyone, but especially those weary of the fast paced city lifestyle. We came here at the tail end of Khareef, and so there weren't many tourists. It was quiet and peaceful.
The host texted us with instructions through WhatsApp. This made it easy to communicate our requests even when they're not present on the site. They were very hospitable and acquiesced to our reasonable requests.
We were worried about bugs and mosquitos as some of the reviews mentioned it, but didn't find any trouble during our stay. We didn't even use the mosquito repellent we brought with us.
Breakfast was so pleasantly surprising. The presentation was superb. It was delicious. There's a mix of shakshouka, jams, foul, fresh orange juice, a generous selection of fresh bread, and others. There's a coffee machine with some espresso pods. The only thing I would suggest to add is maybe ham or some other form of meat.
Getting there and leaving, we didn't have trouble because we rented a car. But I suppose it could be abut of a hassle without one. Upon checkout there were a couple of guys waiting outside ready to offer transportation for a fee. It wasnt an official taxi or Uber though.
Overall we loved our stay. They didn't give us any trouble at all and were respectful. The place was quiet and peaceful. The view was breathtaking. It was exactly what we needed after a...
Read moreMy partner and I stayed at Serene Oman during the early part of August 2023. When we arrived, the domes were hidden among the low clouds and it had a mystical, magical aura. When we entered our ‘room’ we were delighted by the romantic atmosphere, beautiful decor, and modern amenities.
We spent two nights in the dome, and at one point the clouds lifted enough to give us an incredible view of the nearby waterfalls at Ittin, so we made a plan to walk there the next day. A tricky hike, that required us to walk through water up to our knees in some places, rewarded us with incredible views of two beautiful waterfalls.
The reception area is shared with Levels Cafe, which makes the best coffee we tried in Salalah! Perfect for a morning pick me up.
The only downside of our two nights were the uninvited guests (a lot of small black biting midges that were more annoying than painful).
Overall, a perfect two nights in a beautiful and romantic environment. Highly...
Read moreWe spent three very pleasant nights at Serene. Even outside of khareef season, the surrounding mountains are lovely. We liked that the glamp was up in the mountains and removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. We loved the bed, the room furnishings, and the private terrace with a view of the surrounding mountains and valley. The AC worked very well. Sabry, the caretaker, could not have been more welcoming and friendly. He helped us with whatever we needed and even showed us the nearby cave. Etienne Cave Cafe is right on site and has a very tasty (though short) menu. We enjoyed a light dinner and sheesha under the pleasant garden lights. My only critique would be that the bathroom developed an odor after a day of use that did not seem to go away and was made worse by our showering. However, this minor annoyance was outweighed by an otherwise...
