Lovely resort with a serene atmosphere and delicious food across all the outlets. It was my first stay and hope not the last one. From the arrival experience until the departure it was perfect. Butler Manoj was very guest oriented, had a very good eye on details. Offered a ginger tea to be delivered to the villa when i requested. He kindly assisted with late check out and assured that will be there to assist with luggage once i am ready to leave. Villa itself have a great lay out and very convenient access to everything around the resort. Breakfast choice was great especially variety of fruits, vegan station and the station with special healthy drinks. My favorite was ginger, celery, lemon ( if i m not mistaken of the ingredients :):) Water activities are available and we had enjoyed 2 days in a row our paddle boarding sessions. For those who wants to relax by the pool - it s a lovely place to hangout where service is well maintained. Spa has its unique location and once you enter it you hardly want to leave it. the smell of oil scents is just awesome. The have a special separate section where they can help you to make your own body scrub by mixing the essential oil and salts. On departure day the Hotel was kind enough to extend us a late check out . one additional remark whenever you have a chance to stay in Six Sences & Spa Zighy Bay resort please visit restaurant Sense on the Edge which is having a unique location on the top of the mountain where drive takes approximately 10 minutes. The view is incredible and the name of the restaurant fits it perfectly. you will sense so much of excitement of the view, atmosphere as if you by chance staying during full moon- lights a normally off in the restaurant where the full lighting is only by the moon. How romantic it is:) And the manager Leonilla will be happy to assist you with menu and drinks suggestions. chose the best location for the amazing experience by booking Sense on the Edge for your dinner. A big thank you to the team- as during the stay i never heard a word No. whenever you ask them for something they always reply with Yes we can do it. This is sometimes hard knowing that guests' requests might be challenging but this is a great job and once again Thank you all.
Thank you and...
Read moreWe stayed at Six Senses Zighy Bay for two nights and were blown away by the breathtaking location. The beach is truly stunning, and the unique architecture creates a magical and serene atmosphere.
Our beachfront villa was spotless, perfectly located, and offered direct access to the sea. The breakfast buffet was exceptional, healthy, diverse, and fresh.
We also had outstanding meals at Sense on the Edge, Spice Market, and Summer House, each offering excellent service, delicious food, and a memorable ambiance. The massages at the spa were truly magical, ranking among the best we’ve experienced.
That said, we were disappointed by the level of service from our assigned GEM (Guest Experience Maker), which did not live up to the standards of a hotel in this category. We’re used to exceptional service at luxury resorts like Soneva, Four Seasons, or the Ritz-Carlton, where guests are truly pampered.
Unfortunately, our GEM repeatedly forgot to arrange our buggy pickups at pre-agreed times. He also rushed our hotel tour, did not properly introduce us to our villa, and missed several key touchpoints. He lacked the “I take care of everything, you relax” mindset, and instead we sometimes had to follow up on basic things—like ensuring our morning housekeeping was done when we were away. It added an unnecessary layer of stress to what should have been a completely stress-free stay.
Another surprising and disappointing moment: our package included two complimentary lunches during our stay. We used the second one on our last day, after checkout, and our GEM initially tried to charge us for it, saying it was against the rules because lunch had to be taken “before noon.” For the sake of 20 OMR, he nearly spoiled the end of our experience. My husband had to insist for quite some time before the charge was finally waived. That kind of rigid approach is unheard of at a Six Senses level property.
Lastly, compared to the other fantastic restaurants, Mezzeria was a letdown—bland food and uninspired flavors.
In summary, while the property itself is spectacular and most of the dining and wellness experiences were top-tier, the inconsistency in service held us back from fully enjoying what could have been a...
Read moreWe arrived by paragliding in to the resort, which was an incredible experience, very serene and truly exciting to catch our first glimpse of the resort from above! The resort was beautiful, very tranquil, well laid out and it seemed like we were the only ones there as you seldom saw other guests, unless you went to the main restaurant for breakfast or evening meal, it was only then that you realised there were lots of other guests! The room was incredibly spacious and very comfortable, the small pool at the room was a welcome retreat from the heat. Everything about the room and the hotel layout was superb and our GEM was very helpful. The negatives: we felt pressured by the upselling. We have stayed at other Six Senses resorts and not had the same exposure to staff looking for guests to book onto further, payable, options. There was a manager's welcome drinks night, which it turned out was really just for the staff to sell spa treatments, excursions or further paragliding/microgliding outings. This feeling was further consolidated when, at breakfast, a member of the water sports team and the spa team was at the door to the restaurant so you were pounced on as you entered and left, which felt quite awkward. We also felt that the hotel veered towards their pay options and did not advertise clearly or as obviously, the things you could do that were free and included. It felt very much like the hotel was geared towards the weekend visitors from over the border who are happier to pay for all the extras and not to clients who come for a week's stay. There was only one restaurant available during our stay - the Spice Market (other than the fine dining 'Sense on the Edge', which was not included of the Half Board package). This felt particularly restrictive, as you could not pop out of the resort and dine anywhere else so it was either your room or the same restaurant every night, which became very repetitive, particularly as the menu did not change nightly. All in all, it was a very relaxing stay, but we would not go back for a long stay due to the limited dining choices and the...
