Tired and traveling through the Costa Rica, Panama border all day! Arrived here and we're thrilled with the amazing view and fantastic patio restaurant. I upgraded to a Casa since the room faced the jungle and thought we should splurge due to such a long day. Unfortunately, things went slowly down hill from here. We order dinner and while one was palatable, mine was frozen in the center but the plate was flaming hot. They appologized with two deserts. Once we got to the room ...I realised we didn't have any ac remotes so I went to grab them, then realized there was no notice of the wifi code...I again returned up the hill for the code.. .problem being there was 0 communication from the receptionist that the code was on the key along side the room number. A phone system would have been helpful. In the morning we rose early to catch the ferry. Unfortunately the water was really cold...which is fine...if we weren't paying 3 star prices. Anyway, bottom line...It didn't feel like a 250.00us experience for both of us. When I went to return the keys and quietly leave disappointed the poor receptionist needed to inspect my room for damage? That was it for me!!! NO one Inspected that we had everything when we checked in and that the hot water was working last night. No one stuck a thermometer in my lasagna? Would I return, yes. Would I upgrade, NO! Would I eat there again, no. Compliments to the management for hiring the compassionate morning receptionist in training and the great male waiter. Shame on them for the night time receptionist and the chef who clearly could care less about my business and that I upgraded! I did sleep well and the view is...
Read moreWe (2 adults & 2 boys, 6 & 8) stayed for 1 night early January, before we needed to board the ferry to Bocas Del Toro in the morning. The accommodation was nice, big apartment with the basic amenities. The kitchen was rather empty of utensils but we didn't need it except for the fridge. Bocas Ridge is an apartment complex for people to move in and live in. Since they are new, they rent like a hotel. |The welcome drink was nice, but it took forever to get served. Also, some of us had their drink while the rest of us didn't. We thought that we didn't communicate well, but it was just that they were slow, and seemed not interested to serve you.|We had dinner at their restaurant. Very disappointed by the service. Extremely slow service, took forever to get our food. Dishes with fish (we ordered 2 of them) were smelling fishy -pun intended! We also ordered a pizza which was good, just took forever to arrive.|The included breakfast is very simple: fruits, bread, cheese and jam, and coffee. Since we were going to leave early to catch the first ferry, they packed it up for us in the evening.|I am mostly disappointed that much of the hill top has been destroyed to build this complex. Now, this facility is the only one around Almirante (where you catch the ferry), so I recommend it. P.S. Almirante is dirty, small and eyes are on...
Read morePerfect stay for our family! Couldn't make a reservation on their website, but found them on Whats App at +507 6432-4004. On What's App ( and email) they were quick to respond and we were able to reserve a room without deposit. ( I wanted to make a deposit on their website but they weren't set-up for credit cards expiring later than 2026- don't let that stop you; whats app worked just fine). We stayed one night, on the way to Boca Del Toro. We had a senior apartment with 2 bedrooms- 3 beds for $120.00 US. It was very clean, hot water in shower, comfortable beds and air conditioning that worked very well in each room. We had a quiet night and got good rest. It felt safe- traveling with our 5 year old. We arrived late around 9pm and although they were closed, they made sure they still had someone there to show us to our room. We didn't get to have breakfast because we had to catch the ferry to Bocas and ran out of time, but the breakfast place had an amazing view and the staff were very courteous while we checked out. Strongly recommend and we will be back if we visit Boca...
