As a meat eater, this is the best place I’ve ever eaten that was vegan. Michelle is an incredible chef & prepares meals from plants on her property. Portions are large & everything tastes amazing. She currently offers meals by reservation. She’s accommodated us on the same day, so give her a call!

Cool experience. He has lovely animals. Nice starting point to explore the island (city and beaches are not far). You can also have a good vegan dinner there with vegetables picked from his own garden. Breakfast with fruits and coffee or tea included. Perfect place to relax.

Best food in Panama! Lovely chatty Australian owner which cooks with all fresh ingredients from her garden. Delicious food and good price! Just need to reserve in advance as she only cooks for the nr of people that reserved. Ask around the island or your hotel for her nr.

Communication worked easily in advanced and during the stay but we felt that the information regarding activities on the island was a bit missing. We asked for example about the path to Wizard beach and received confusion explanation to all three paths. We also learned from other travellers that there is an area on the island with sloths, which wasn't mentioned by the host. A drawn map of the island with respective paths and things to see would be a real win.

The location is beautifully in the jungle, which means a quiet and a beautiful view of the sea. It takes around 10 minutes into town and the last part to Coco Hill is quite step and via stones. When it rains it will be really slippery (even in hiking shoes) so be aware. There is also a path from the bungalows down to the sea but sadly there are no signs at all which makes coming up a quite tricky.

Breakfast includes homemade bread (amazing!), jams, fruits and coffee / milk. Unfortunately, the breakfast area is really small: as we sat with another room at the table and it was already very full. We also felt that a proactive replacement of empty jams (second day there was nearly no left) or some juice and optional egg self service would have been nice.

The room and location is clean but even tough we do not expect a room cleaning via Airbnb, all other places at least empties the trash in the bathroom. Something everyone should be aware of (we did not reduce any stars for this): You are in the middle of the jungle, meaning you will have coackroaches and other insects in the room. In our case we had a little party of 3 running around (due to the beautiful outdoor shower and missing net to the main room).

Room and Facilities are unfortunately just a 6/10 for us as there is no light in the room beside a decorative night stand light. Meaning you can't even read a book; packing in the dark being impossible. There are also various pictures of different rooms in the same room booking, which will result in the rooms not living up to expectations: There is one free standing bungalow (which has no hammrock), one double-story bungalow with Rose room downstairs (with hammock) and Orchid rook upstairs (with hanging stairs) and a shed under the reception / restaurant area (which we would not recommend anyone to book).

Price Value is for us sadly only a 4/10 as the breakfast is not amazing, the rooms not being as advertised and the odd service. In addition, the dinner price is simply extremely overpriced and not proactive told in advance (the host rather called $13-15 mains at the Zapatilla tour lunch expensive, which gave us the sense dinner would not be expensive). You pay $23.50 per person without drinks, which included for us a shared starter (bread with guacamole and cheese, normally $7 for two), a vegetable curry with rice and leaves (normally $13-15), and a small watermelon sorbet (normally $1.5-2). In total a fair price would be maximal $18-20 and those $23.5 are just overcharged, especially as you might not be able to eat the full dish (curry was extremely spicy, even though a child also got it servered who couldn't eat spicy and which was told in advance). At the end of dinner she also really wanted to leave for the evening (we were never told a latest dinner time before) and half of the meal was quite chaotic, which did make it hard to enjoy the dinner.

The cabins themselves are a fantastic design and the location is nice with it being just above town. You feel like you're in the jungle with the views and the sounds. ||Good, healthy breakfasts too. ||Unfortunately the restaurant was closed though with it being offseason and it was a shame I was never told when I booked as that was something I was really looking forward to. ||The cabins though being very beautiful could have done with a good deep clean as were pretty grotty. And the grounds in general needed a good clean up as there was a fair amount of junk and tools etc lying around. ||Also the 2 roosters residing under the balcony of one of the cabins were a bit of an oversight...didnt really need to be woken up at 5 am every morning....The resident dogs too, though lovely, would go crazy several times a night too :( ||There was also an issue with water despite the accommodation not being full. It was often turned off over a couple of days or had just run out...||So mixed feelings...potentially an amazing place, just could have been a...

A very bad experience. Where do I start…price versus quality was very bad. No water in room. Assigned a separate room for us to shower, but it had no shower head. We needed to walk across the property to pee and clean up. A trickle of water from a pipe on the wall. No drinking water is offered. Far from Town and you need to walk a very muddy slope to get there. No chairs to sit which is stunning. Pillows were older than sin. The bed sheets had stains. The breakfast was a total and absolute joke and insulting. Stale bread that I would not feed to a dog. I don’t know how a host can serve stale bread on a plate and call it breakfast. I would be embarassed. A complete misrepresentation to suggest that it includes breakfast. It does not!!!!!!!! Best of all, no wifi at all. They give you access to a network that does not work at all. Not sure how you can run a business without it. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid. This host does not have it...
