From the moment we arrived, everything was top-notch. What a breath of fresh air to find 5 star service in Panama. From the smiling attentive staff, to the refreshing infinity edge pool overlooking the island dotted ocean to the full service pool side bar, who could ask for more? But wait! Then there was the room...we chose the king size bed with private balcony overlooking the ocean out one balcony and the vast stretches of mangroves off the other. The bed was so comfortable, it felt as if we had been sleeping for weeks. The air condioned room, high thread count sheets and the plush pillows welcome tired and wary travelers into a night of peaceful slumber. The west facing detached bahia (thatch covered) patio top of a perfect day by producing an amazing sunset across the river valley and the distant hills. The food service is absolutely 5 stars and the menu options are plentiful. We will absolutely be back to this hidden gem. No review, no matter how good, will do a stay at El Regalo justice - you just have to experience it: The drive on gravel roads towards the property through the rainforests ends at the "summit", which gives way to stunning views. It was a marvelous first impression. East to get there using WAZE gps. Instructions to access secure private entrance provided. If you like nature this is a place to stay. My husband and I love nature and were delighted with the welcoming of the surrounding and staff ready to serve and make our stay memorable. The suite is spacious with its seating area over looking the mountains and ocean. Also, rooms have all the most needed basics when away from home. It just feel like a home with an staff ready to make you feel welcome. Private beach is just a few minutes drive or walk if you rather do that. There’s a pickleball court if you feel like get your game on. If you rather chill out with a drink and on a hammock there’s a big bohio to enjoy the sundown with your favorite drink.
