Our recent stay at Azul Paradise through Expedia was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we stepped off the plane in Bocas del Toro, having a water taxi pre-scheduled to pick us up at Bocas Docks, and when we stepped off the boat at Azul Paradise, every aspect of our experience was well managed and stress free.

The boat ride from Bocas Town to Azul Paradise takes about 35 minutes, and Capitán Eliberto will ferry you through the scenic mangroves over numerous coral reefs. You may even catch a glimpse of a dolphin or two like we did! When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by the staff with fresh island cocktails. The manager Jordano helped us with our luggage to our overwater bungalow. He explained numerous amenities the resort had to offer including the two main dining areas, yoga studio, beaches, hiking trails, and free access to kayaks, Stand-up paddle boards, and snorkeling equipment.

Our bungalow was spacious, immaculately clean, and the panoramic views from the full wall glass windows were simply breathtaking. Waking up to the ocean waves and sounds of the tropical rainforest made us feel totally at peace. While drinking your morning coffee, you will likely see several different species of fish through the glass floor.

What truly sets Azul Paradise apart is its unparalleled service. The staff went above and beyond to ensure that we felt welcomed and cared for throughout our stay. From the warm greeting at check-in to the prompt assistance with setting up excursions, their attention to detail and genuine hospitality were commendable. We were able to visit “Monkey Island” during our visit. We hand fed howler monkeys and interacted with the 16 well cared for monkeys on the island. So awesome!!

We ventured out on the hiking trail to the nearby village with an experienced tour guide who spoke both English and Spanish. We were able to see a Three-Toed Sloth, night monkeys, alligator, and the iconic red frog in their natural habitat.

The resort’s restaurant featured a diverse array of delectable dishes crafted from fresh, locally sourced ingredients, prepared by their on-site Chef. Orlando, Geronimo, and Melisa waited on us and made sure we were well taken care of throughout our dining experience.

Located in a secluded location, my wife and I found ourselves with the privacy we needed to reconnect. Often, we were the only ones on the beach, or the only ones on the walking trail enjoying the sounds of nature. With zero light pollution, we laid on the outdoor swinging beds at night gazing up at the stars.

In conclusion, our experience at Azul Paradise exceeded all expectations, thanks to its impeccable accommodations, outstanding service led by managers Jordano and Ricardo, and the unbeatable location. We highly recommend this resort, and we look forward to returning...

I stayed at Azul Paradise Resort from February 4th to the 6th with a group of friends and family of 10 in total. The booking at the resort's official site was easy, and with the help of Chelsea, various questions we had regarding transportation and the accommodation were promptly and precisely answered. I do recommend figuring out the transportation to and from the resort beforehand by reaching to the Azul Paradise team via email or WhatsApp (check the confirmation email) as the location of Azul Paradise is in a rather remote part of the island. The transportation service provided by Azul Paradise was punctual and courteous. Upon our arrival to the resort, we were greeted by staff with fresh coconut drinks. As for the over water bungalows we stayed in, they were spacious and comfortable with a terrace for lounging under the sun and a shower for rinsing after a dip in the sea. They all had air conditioning (on from 6pm to 8am), Wi-Fi connection, the standard hotel amenities and were clean. Part of the group stayed at the double bungalow, and the staff was super helpful by asking how we would like the bed arrangement in each room so that everyone had their own bed. I took off one star from the review because, at least in the bungalow I stayed in (Deluxe Bungalow 7), there were some signs of wear and tear in the infrastructure that would be nice if they were addressed: some windows did not close completely, the door was finicky and was not that easy to open sometimes, a piece of wood was missing from one of the floor to ceiling window frames, and a repair was made to wall of the bathroom on the outside is also falling apart. This is a beach property and it is also over the over water, so the wear and tear encountered is not uncommon. Although it did not affect the comfort of our stay, it would be nice if they were fixed. As mentioned previously, the location of the resort is remote, there are no convenience stores nearby or other restaurants other than the one at the hotel. The menu at the hotel's restaurant is small, but the food was delicious. Overall, I would return to this hotel to enjoy relaxing time close to nature, hopefully next time the weather is fairer. A big thank you to Ricardo, Heriberto, Giordano, Chelsea and staff for making sure we were comfortable at...

The resort is staffed by the indigenous people of the area, and are so proud to share their island with you. We spent 8 days in bungalow #6, one of the ones out front. The view was outstanding, and the bungalow was very comfortable. We had the full board, and were very glad as Chef Chettie is fantastic! Breakfast and lunch choices stay the same, but dinner is varied and all of it is delicious! Orlando and Melissa were always friendly and made great drinks! Neftaly and Geronimo make sure that you have everything you need at all time. Housekeeping is on top of making sure your bed is made daily, and that your towels are fresh as needed. If Calypso offers you a tour of the village, make sure you go! We were so honored to meet the people of Salt Creek, and see monkeys, red frogs and sloths! Ricardo was our guide and took us snorkeling, to see dolphins, on an ATV tour in Bocas Del Toro, for a picnic on Zapatilla Island, for lunch on a floating bar, and through the mangrove canals to see more sloths! Chelsea was very helpful in booking and making all of our arrangements for us. The resort is going through a change in management, so make sure you touch base directly with the resort to confirm your reservation before arrival. Please note that this is a very remote location, you will need to take an hour long plane ride from a small airport on the other side of Panama City, followed by an hour long boat ride to the island. There are no stores, restaurants or anything else on the island other than the resort. The boat rides are fast and rough through open Caribbean waters. The resort has kayaks and snorkle gear for use, and the WiFi and TV worked for what we needed. We loved everything about our stay, we hope to go...

We stayed in an over the water cabin, and we felt you just pay for that while the rest of the experience is not aligned in Amenities/details/treat/food quality and leisure options with price (too expensive or too low quality) and nobody knows how to change that. Luxury price for an average hotel with a great location and enviroment -Food quality/quantity and options are low and super basic (and you are "forced" to eat there avg.30$ per course, as is expensive or difficult to leave the island) - Room amenities are "hostel quality" -Rests of construction material and tools (big nails, turpentine, etc) fully unorganised and exposed in the sand beach area BUT nobody working there (see picts) Feels quite easy to hide it covered with a nice textile -All options to leave the island are too expensive (av.45$ pp) -Staff not engaged with hotel/no reaction to feedback -Workers just chillin' in the guests beach bar showing they have nothing to do (but there's a lot to do!) -Poor Timings and disorganisation (even we embraced caribbean timings) - Room not cleaned daily or done last minute even when you spend the whole morning out (had to request it) What you look for in this kind of trip is to care about nothing (not looking for luxury, we look for quality!) ,while in azul paradise we had to care about too many things to get an "ok" experience

What an amazing time we spent here! The staff was excellent and met our needs any time we asked for anything. When we talked with the owners, it sometimes felt like we were old friends catching up on life. We stayed in one of the over water bungalows and loved it. The view was amazing and it was cozy, the owners even brought us a personal coffee pot and provided all I needed to make my own until the staff got up to start breakfast (I woke up generally around 5am). We had boat travel easily arranged to Bocas when we wanted for suba diving which was twice. After coming back from diving one day, the staff had set up our room, arranged a private dinner on our deck, and left us a bottle of bubbly for our honeymoon we never took and our anniversary(as we were celebrating both)! The options for food are obviously limited, but everything was delicious and we never had a bad meal, the chefs are great! This is an off grid location, so don't expect that you're going to sandals resorts. The wife and I will come back again!

My wife, daughter and I stayed at this resort last month (January, 2017) and had an amazing time. We spent some of the time in a bungalow, and then rented a house on the beach. The staff is pleasant and helpful, the beach is gorgeous, and the locals are friendly. Some things to note: 1. Just like with anywhere in the world, the visibility in the water varies by the tides. So some days will not be good snorkel or scuba days. You will want to do one of the other tours (we loved the chocolate farm) if a storm just passed through. 2. The power went off for a few minutes here and there, but it was cloudy a few days and the resort is powered mostly by solar during the day. 3. The beach is very nice, there was a little construction going on because a new pool was getting installed on the beach. The construction was completed during the end of our stay, and they were just waiting for more rain to be able to fill the pool. It looks like we may have to come back to check it out
