Its hard to know where to start as this place exceeded all our expectations and we had a wonderful stay. Brian and Amy are totally passionate and committed to how they run Dolphin Bay and we instantly felt welcome and at home. We also appreciated their integration with the local & wider community & the staff are the loveliest friendliest people you could hope to meet. The location tucked away amongst the mangroves was breathtaking and peaceful. I don’t want to give too much away as discovering the wonders of this place is half the fun but there is plenty to do with calm water, boat trips, kayaking, snorkelling on the colourful reefs, dolphin watching (which was wonderful), exploring the various islands or just enjoying the vibrant grounds with its abundant wildlife. Brian's passion for ecology & conservation and the works they are doing to restore the surrounding jungle into a thriving habitat makes his guided walk fascinating. The efforts he is putting in to encouraging the local frog population was particularly colourful! It was lovely meeting the different guests and we enjoying sharing meals… if you haven’t already read in other reviews the food here is exceptional, the fresh tuna streaks was one of my favourites! We also shared boat trips with the other guests which was fun. Our bed in the Bay Room was super comfy and the overhead fans a delight…having chatted to other guest all the rooms have the same and the rooms were refreshed daily which was lovely. If your thinking about staying here just book. We stayed for a week and it was one of the highlights for us over a six week trip….we really hope to return sometime!! Many, many thanks Brian, Amy and team :-)

Just Wow, this is Airbnb is unlike any other I have stayed at. The food, the accommodations, the peaceful setting, the dolphins, and the tours are amazing. The hosts, Brian and Amy, go to great lengths to make sure that you have a vacation of a lifetime. Keep in mind that when you stay here you will not be walking to any other restaurants. Once you’ve tasted the food that Amy and her staff make for you, you won’t want to go anywhere else. They can accommodate any type of diet, including a vegan diet. All you need to do is ask. Make sure you take advantage of the tours they offer including jungle tours and snorkeling tours, Brian’s knowledge of the area is unparalleled. On the jungle tour you will learn so much as he tells you about the different types of trees and you sample the cacoa fruit along your walk. On the snorkel tour you will see so many vibrant colors of coral and fish! Dolphin Bay Hideaways’s work to reforest the adjacent area and restore the coral in the bay is truly amazing to witness. Skip the tours from Bocas town and just stay here after you’ve had your fill of Bocas town. You can be at any of the destinations the tours take you on within minutes and be back at your hotel sipping mojitos straight away. Dolphin Bay Hideaway is truly paradise, just book it, you will be glad you did.

Dolphin Bay Hideaway is the perfect name for this hidden gem. If you’re seeking an escape on a remote island in Bocas del Toro, nestled in the middle of a lush mangrove forest with breathtaking views of the bay, look no further. From the deck, you’ll spot dolphins jumping during every meal. Grab a kayak at sunrise or sunset for a closer look – it’s truly magical. The service provided by Brian, JA, and Potin was exceptional. Their dedication and care to ensure every guest’s needs are met is unparalleled. Brian’s deep knowledge of the local flora and fauna enriched the experience, and they were always attentive, creating a homey yet adventurous atmosphere. The food was balanced, fresh, and delicious, making every meal as enjoyable as the company. This is a place that truly takes you away from it all – but be warned, if you’re looking for a sanitized resort experience or the convenience of a shopping mall, this is not the place for you. Anyone who cannot appreciate the beauty and serenity of this place does not deserve it. I will absolutely return. This is a stay I will never forget.

We had THE BEST TIME at Dolphin Bay Hideaway! Everything was truly amazing. Communication with Brian before arrival was easy and informative. Meet up in Boca del Toro was smooth, and our boat captain was very accommodating. A pod of dolphins swam alongside our boat on our way in- which was a lovely start to our stay!| |We stayed at Dolphin Bay Hideaway for 5 nights and loved every minute! JA and Arkey provided breakfast and dinner each day- and their food was fabulous! So yummy and beautifully presented. JA is a chef and an artist with his food creations.| |Accommodations were wonderful! We had all 4 rooms in the lodge- each one decorated nicely, very comfortable and always clean. The main area of the lodge was perfect for meals and evenings spent playing games and hanging out. The views are beautiful and serene. | |During the days, we were busy with adventures. One day we visited several snorkel spots in the morning and then hung out at Zapatillo beach for the afternoon. Another day we did the jungle hike with Brian in the morning- not to be missed! We learned so much, planted trees and saw amazing sites including sloths. This was really a highlight for us. Brian’s passion for the jungle and reforestation is contagious and made us appreciate all that we saw and experienced. After the jungle hike, we headed to Red Frog Beach for the afternoon.| |We also spent a day at Starfish Beach. All 3 beaches we hit were great- fun in the sun was just what we needed and we had yummy lunches at local huts on each beach. | |Final day we made a trip into Boca in the morning and the afternoon was spent hanging out back at Dolphin Bay Hideaway. Two from our group enjoyed the paddle boards, two had massages (so good!) and two enjoyed lounging and reading at the lodge.| |Our group enjoyed working out each day in the pavilion (between the dock and the lodge). It is open-aired with views directly to the bay, so an ideal place for the body and soul. The weights, jump ropes, stationary bikes, yoga mats, etc were all used and appreciated.| |The final thing I will mention is the hospitality extended to us. Brian and his team are beyond superb. They made us feel so welcome and treated us like royalty and family at the same time (if that makes sense). Dolphin Bay Hideaway is really a special place, run by very special people who love what they do, and provided us with special memories that we will long cherish.| |I researched A LOT of hotels/lodges leading up to this vacation and am beyond thrilled to have picked Dolphin Bay Hideaway. If you are looking to go to Panama on vacation, I’ve done the research for you. Book your stay at Dolphin Bay Hideaway- you won’t regret it. Have fun and please tell Brian and the team “Hello” from...

When I was first searching for a second island to stay, I came across Dolphin Bay Hideaway. I was impressed with all the excellent reviews, and the pictures were amazing. However, I was reluctant to stay somewhere without AC in such a warm, humid environment. I did find other inviting B&B's with AC, but something kept me coming back to this place. I reached out to Brian asking about the weather and do fans truly make it comfortable enough for sleeping? He was so great about quickly answering all my questions, and it sounded like it would actually be okay! I decided to go for it and told my husband to think of it as an adventure. Beautiful adventure it was! First of all, if you have any hesitation because of no AC, do yourself a favor, and just go for it! You'll love it and make so many beautiful new memories. We didn't get the opportunity to meet Amy as she was visiting family in the US. Brian is not just a host. He made us feel like we were an invited friend. He shared with us his piece of paradise which by the way is pretty large! He is so knowledgeable and a great conservationist. He showed us sloths, the most magnificently colored tiny frogs, trees, flowers, cacao. We even got to chop down ripened bananas. We stayed in the Bay Room which had lots of privacy and the most comfortable bed! There's a large ceiling fan and 2 wonderful small fans overhead that keep you cool and comfortable all night long. The pool is refreshing. Jay was our chef, and he made the best breakfasts, and dinners will not be soon forgotten! The food was exceptional. If you like boating, this is the place to be. Brian arranged snorkeling and beach trips. Snorkeling the nearby mangroves was surprisingly one of the best snorkeling experiences we've ever had. The colors of the coral are spectacular, and starfish are plentiful. If you love dolphins, you are guaranteed to see them. They love jumping the boat wakes. It was so much fun watching them play. I'll never forget our daily sunset boating in the bay. Thank you, Dr. Tony! Beautiful breeze, sun setting through the cloud formations, dolphins spinning and jumping in the background. Yes,...
