We stayed here for two nights and it aas absolute heaven. The owner, Diane, is so kind, helpful, and personable. You feel you've known her for years the instant you meet her. She and her husband have two very sweet, adorable dogs who greet guests upon arrival. There is a beautiful waiting room/common room where you can relax before check in or during your stay. The walk to the treehouse is easy and beautifully landscaped. The treehouse itself is well-appointed, charming, and very comfortable. The bed is cozy and has both a mosquito net and a high-powered fan. We were cool and bug-free all night long while we were lulled to sleep by the gentle sounds of the jungle and waves in the distance. We slept better here than literally any accommodations we've had in over 40 countries and 47 U.S. states. There is a hammock swing and a little breakfast nook, both of which we enjoyed using.. Filtered water, beer, and a kettle for tea were available at check-in/in our kitchen. Everything is amazingly clean, especially given that it's open air! This probably isn't for you if you're squeamish about heights or nature; but, if you're even mildly adventurous, this treehouse is a must. The tree shower does not have hot water (you don't really need it here, anyway) but is deeply relaxing and really adds to the experience. The little porch below the house is a great viewing point, as is the bathroom. We saw a two-toed sloth super close to us and were able to watch him eat for close to an hour. We also had tons of anole lizard visitors and a great view of multiple bird species. Be sure to ask Diane for restaurant and beach recommendations- she is a wealth of local knowledge and taking her suggetions greatly enhanced the quality of our trip. The road to Bocas Town is a bit rough, but you quickly adjust to the bumpy taxi ride with incredible beach views. The treehouse is located extremely close to Playa Bluff, which was extremely convenient. Highly, HIGHLY...
Read moreWe have stayed in unique properties all over the world and agreed that the Jungle Treehouse by the Sea was the most special. It is a dream to wake up to the sun shining over the ocean and to see the toucans flying around you and the sloths and howler monkeys in the trees beside you. We also counted ourselves very lucky to have heavy rains during the night as we were cozy and dry in our nest and loved falling asleep to the sound of the rain. The treehouse is very well thought out - it has everything you need including a fan that is quiet as to not interfere with the sounds of the jungle around you, a well equipped kitchen, and wifi - while still feeling like a hidden escape. What really sets this experience apart from others is the extreme kindness and generosity of Diane and Todd. A trip we will cherish for the rest...
Read moreThis place is AMAZING! The hosts are so wonderful and helpful! We had a lot of rain when we stayed and let me tell you, this is the place to be when it rains. It was so relaxing hearing the waves crashing and the rain all around us. It’s a great place to be with a glass of wine and a book. But in between the clouds we got awesome beach time. There are many different secluded beaches within walking distance. We loved the true jungle feel and abundance of wildlife. Don’t waste your time checking out other places to stay, this is where...
