It's two and half hours from Panama City, be prepared for the journey. You could rent a car and drive it, but if you're not accustomed to mixing it up in traffic with the locals best to hire a ride. The resort grounds and buildings are well maintained. The rooms are spacious and the quiet. The air conditioning in all of Panama is perfect. Not freeze your butt off like in Florida (hate that), but cool enough to allow you to be comfortable. The pools and beach are lovely. The service is excellent though not being bi-lingual was a bit of a challenge. After a vodka tonic or two it all seemed to smooth over! Read moreThe hotel is beautiful with comfortable and wonderful spaces. The best all the staff, Emir at the beach and pool area was nice and useful as well as everyone in every area of the hotel. The worst: There wasn't air conditioner most of the day and the night ... just terrible, we couldn't sleep. The restaurants: The Thai ... just ok. The Criollo ... just ok. The breakfast was very good. The pool restaurant was the best. The Bar Palapa was excellent, Barbara and the manager German were extremely kind, polite and useful. In fact everyone at the hotel had the politeness and the great style of the Marriott. We will return. We are very loyal Marriott Bon...

Spent most of our time at El Faro beach club which had excellent organized activities for the kids and loads of pools. The sea was surprisingly rough, with the waves dumping straight onto the beach and knocked us all over completely once. Watch out for sand flies we all got bitten a lot sitting on the sand! Restaurants were smart and pricey, we had bought picnic lunches with us but next time I think we might venture out of the hotel grounds...
