Just returned from our first visit to La Brisa del Diablo, we had researched and read many of the reviews so our expectations were high. Olga greeted us warmly and we stepped into this magical oasis and started our experience in the beautiful dining room with a mouthwatering smoked tuna wrap and fresh salad. After lunch we checked into our absolutely charming casita with wide, stunning views of the gardens, pool and mountains beyond. As the sun was bright we headed straight to the unique little pool and cooled off whilst relishing the vistas of the mists rolling around Baru. Truly felt like we we floating up in the clouds.. dinner was grilled shrimp in coconut lemon grass red pepper sauce with jasmine rice and after one bite the ceiling on our expectations just blew off it’s moorings.. we barely spoke as we relished every delicious morsel.. truly one of the best meals we have had in a myriad of travels.. we wound down the Eve next to the fire, then slept soundly on a very comfy bed. Breakfast was also wonderful ..All the meals had special touches like homemade this and that and the sauces were just divine.. also so lovely in the presentation. Both Olga and Stefan were wonderful hosts, the room was spotless, and had all we needed and more..Thank you both for such a wonderous, special experience! We are planning our...
Read moreThis place was beautiful online and I thought it was going to be a wonderful stay. When we arrived, the owner told us that we had to park our car on the side of the road (a winding mountain road traveled by cars and large trucks). Unfortunately, upon arrival we realized that to get to our cabin we had to stumble down a 500 meter drop filled with mud and rocks! I barely made it down and when we finally arrived we discussed our circumstance and realized that we could not possibly carry our 2 coolers filled food and personal belongings for 6. The trek back up was worse and the owner was apologizing for our predicament and offering to return our money. We stayed in a hotel that night and then drove the 7 hours back to Panama City. In the end, the owner charged us $140. for the night we did not stay. Half of our food had to be thrown away because it went bad. Because of the quarantine, we weren't able to buy ice until the next morning. I feel that the owners of this place should post a disclaimer that it is not suitable for people with disabilities or people with heavy belongings. It was an awful experience and now I...
Read moreThis place is an absolute gem! We stayed in the Noah's Arc cottage which is charming, rustic & very comfortable. Tastefully furnished and decorated with a well appointed and fully functioning kitchen. They have an onsite restaurant - the owner is the chef - and our meals were stunning. Easily the BEST we've had in Panama. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with a roaring gas fire - so inviting and beautiful. The property is located on the highway - so be prepared for some traffic noise; honestly you get used to it and it didn't bother us. There is a high wall surrounding the property at the entrance from the highway and once you're inside it you have nothing but beautiful gardens, an expansive view of the valley and mountains beyond, and complete peace & tranquility. Lots of things to do in the area - plenty of water falls and paths to hike - or just sit still and "BE"! I wouldn't hesitate to stay again, AND, highly recommend it! We only stayed 2 nights - wish it could have...
