Vista Lago Ecoresort — Hotel in La Peña

We stayed here for one night as we were passing through Santiago and we loved it. It’s hidden from sight, just off the Pan American Highway.||The hotel is beautiful and modern and has a lake at the back of the property.|The pool is open from 9am - 10am and is awesome! There are plenty of loungers and chairs to sit on and it’s clean and beautifully maintained (apart from a wobbly handrail!).||The rooms were big and airy and had an amazing terrace with a big hammock and a lake view.|All the staff we encountered at reception and in the restaurant were lovely. The food was decent and reasonably priced. There is indoor and outdoor seating so plenty of wonderful views of the lake.||There is plenty of free parking onsite.||I would definitely stay here again and we were sad we only spent a short amount...

Judging from the reviews, basically a 4 year gap, I am assuming they were closed for a while. But everything was nice, everything worked, and the staff is exceptional. The back of the hotel overlooks a nice small scenic lake, and all rooms have a private patio or balcony that looks over it. The rooms are large and comfortable. The pool was gorgeous. The food in the restaurant was good, with big portions and reasonable prices. I did notice a few small spots with peeling paint, but that was probably due to it being closed a while. And probably the worst choice if tile on the bathroom walls. At first I thought it was a major mold issue, but on closer inspection I realized it was just the pattern in the tile.

This hotel is on the outskirts of Santiago, closer to on the way to David, Chiriqui. The hotel is secluded, so you'll definitley get some peace and quiet during your stay. The hotel is fully equipped with a pool, bar, restaurant, and nice views. Staff was friendly and check in is easy. We had a nice view of the lake from our room, but since it is rainy season, we had to keep the door closed at all costs to prevent the bugs from coming inside. If you're looking to get away from the hustle and bustle from the city of Santiago, and are looking for a hotel thats budget friendly and has the basic necessities, then I would highly recommend this hotel.
