Everything exceeded my expectations.|Chantal and Giorgio are hospitality 'naturals.|Upon my arrival, Chantal met me halfway along the path (rather than wait for me to find her) and greeted me warmly, guided me back to the restaurant area and offered me a glass of water.|Usually upon arrival at a hotel, l'm automatically prepared to offer my passport followed by prepayment of my accommodation. Not at Naturalmemte!|My bungalow was one of the best rooms l've stayed at in over the last year of travel in SE Asia and Sth America. It is thoughtfully designed and appointed with everything l'd want, from toiletries to a fridge and coffee plunger. I spent two days in the hammock hanging at the front of the bungalow reading a novel selected from the hotels small library. The occasional swim in the clean pool kept me refreshed.|Breakfast, included in the tariff, was superb.|Chilled juice, great coffee, plentiful selection of fresh fruit, two cereals, sourdough (yes, real bread) toast with cream cheese and thinly sliced cold meat or/and a selection of jams plus homemade chocolate cake. No eggs wanted or needed for me but there is further add ons if you desire.|Three reasonably priced dinners - each memorable. Chantal and Giorgio make their own pasta (Giorgio is Italian trained) with their menu being based on Italian and Mediterranean cuisines. A welcome change from chicken or chicken.....|I recommend...
Read moreVery Rustic! the owners: pleasant enough. They try to seem helpful. The cabana: We had the Poppy cabana. Paint was certainly bright and deep. Bring your own pillows! NO TV. ac worked fine. There was hot water in the shower and sink. One curtain panel on each window is NOT sufficient to cover the windows! Bathroom was a little dark..hard to see to put on makeup. no hairdryer. It was clean but worn. Minimal shelves in bath. They tell you to not brush your teeth with or drink the water but do not provide bottled water for use in rooms. Activities: Saw no darts (or mosquito netting) as on their site. Pool was never cleaned while there and it needed it. So no activities on site. Breakfast: not served until 8am! definitely Euro style: lunch meat, toast, Oj, tea or coffee, cereal. fresh fruit, cake. Eggs were offered. Dinner was good with homemade pastas. the fish with wine sauce had no real flavor. Caribbean rice was just rice. Pasta with seafood was good. Appears Chef can only handle making good for one table at a time as reservations are on the 1/2 hours for one table each 1/2 hour. anything bought there was added to bill at...
Read moreI did not stay there but I went there for a yoga retreat over 2 days. I also had several meals there. |The yoga retreat was amazing, especially the sunrise meditation on the Las Lajas beach and the breath-work, all with Jana. She is very caring and a great instructor/facilitator. ||For the retreat, Chantal did an excellent job of creating Ayurvedic meals to match each person’s dosha (Vatta, Kapha, Pitta). She explained what ingredients were used in each dish as well. All ingredients were fresh and tasted amazing. ||I also went to dinner there twice before the retreat, and that is how I found out about the retreat. ||The dinners were excellent. I had a steak and it was done perfectly. The next time I had roast pork with mash potatoes. The roast was tender and Chantal said they slow roasted it for 6 hours. Very tasty. |Wine was good. Dessert was crème brûlée - yummy! ||Chantal & Georgio are very welcoming. Chantal speaks 5 languages and they both make you feel at home very quickly. The place is decorated with care and beautiful landscape. Highly recommend their...
