Hacienda Doña Carmen — Hotel in Los Santos

We stayed one night at this "hacienda" 15 minutes south of Pedasi. The accommodations consist of a building with three rental rooms, and a communal kitchen, all located on the owner's property. There is a smallish swimming pool as well.||We stayed in room #1, which was very large, had windows on three sides, and had a big bath and big shower.The bed was very comfortable, but there were no night tables or any kind of lighting for reading.||Likewise, the bathroom was quite large, but there was no lighting over the sink nor was there any counter space to set things on. This lack of basic amenities made managing your things unnecessarily problematic.||Breakfast was delivered to the well equipped kitchen area sometime in the morning and consisted of scrambled eggs, some sausages, and fried tipico potatoes. Since we were the only guests, we found the food sitting on the counter awaiting our arrival. Microwaving the eggs made them drier still and practically unpalatable. Likewise for the other items. Surprisingly, no fruit was served, but the juice was tasty.||I would have scored this property much higher but for the fact of a pricing discrepancy. Their website said that the price was $75 a night. The owner quoted me $95 a night, and when I advised him of the website price, he double-talked the issue as "its high season now, and we need to change the website". We were the only guests there, and it's my thinking that if you advertise a price, that should be the controlling factor. This property has a long way to go to fulfill it's potential and be a reasonable choice. $95 a night is a lot of money to stay along the highway far away...

Great country setting with spacious setting. Three nice units with a/c, overhead fans, large flat screen TVs, spacious bathrooms with on demand hot water. #1 has a king bed; # 2 has two queen beds and #3 has three beds great for families. There is a kitchen with stove, refrigerator, micro-wave, another TV, patio overlooking the hectares of fields filled with cattle and horses. (two mares with colts.) The pool is well located between the rooms and the main house. The house provides partial shade for hot afternoons. Abundant fruit trees. The owner can arrange fishing, trips to Isla Iguana and tell you the different restaurants to visit...

This place is one of the most clean hotel our family had visited; The attention of the owners and the staff is excellent. They make you feel that you are part of them. The place is perfect, clean and the room are big. It is located near the Pedasi town where you can find restaurants and grocery stores, where you can find everything that you need and also it is about 5 minutes from the beach.
