This is probably the nicest hotel in Las Tablas. The underground parking is secure with friendly attendants which we appreciated. Our room was huge, with a large adjoining bathroom. But we had issues with a few things: the strange door lock to the balcony defied understanding - we needed to get help figuring out how to use it! (a first for us). Visitors have access to the hallway light fixture on/off switch; with a large window over our door, whenever someone turned this light on at night it lit up our room until someone turned it off again. Which was really annoying! The restaurant was OK for dinner, but an absolutely dismal breakfast included with our rate. Neither of us were interested in eating there after seeing at what was available. I read another review that said if you want the good breakfast items you need to get there really early? We were there at 7am! But the worst part of all was the two page contract we were asked to sign stating we understood we would be fined if we brought outside food or drink into the room! ||||All in all this was the oddest and most unpleasant hotel experience we have ever had. if you are just passing through, it probably would be fine for a night. But we...

I stayed 2 nights at this hotel in the heart of Las Tablas. The hotel was clean and inviting. The courtyard is open to the elements and acts somewhat as a megaphone for folks in the lobby, as the sounds reverberate up through the atrium. My room was clean and comfortable and all appliances were in good order. There is a fridge and safe in the room. The surrounding area seemed safe and the town quiets down at night. I parked a car in the subterranean garage which is locked and gated each time you go in and out, which was a bit of a hassle to ask someone to open up when coming and going. The downstairs restaurant has a nice menu and the staff in the restaurant was much more friendly than the hotel staff, who I found kind of sour at times. I did not see another hotel in Las Tablas that seemed to compare as a place that I would want to stay instead. I would recommend this hotel if you are...

Update in 2024, back again since original post in 2022. Still amazing. Absolutely recommend. After 6 weeks of hostels and remote workaways, Hotel Presidente was pure heaven on earth for a very reasonable price. Early check-in was only $20. My room was huge, the bathroom spacious and clean with beautiful marble tiles. The rooftop pool has all day bar service from the restaurant downstairs. I was able to work on my laptop in the air conditioned restaurant. Looking forward to rooftop bar/pool this evening. If you want a super comfortable place in Las Tablas then I recommend this hotel. If you are looking for something rustic and local, look elsewhere. 😎

I just came here to see if they could make me a martini at the rooftop bar. The woman behind the bar worked really hard with me trying to make a martini. I know it's not a common drink in Las Tablas. I was pretty surprised they had vermouth here outside of Panama City. I saw their back liquor cabinet they have quite the variety. She couldn't quite get it right but a lot of that was my fault in translation. She gets five stars for effort and that pretty smile.

This is the nicest hotel in the Las Tablas area. The rooms are clean and fresh. The staff is friendly and helpful. There are a few local restaurants outside the the hotel. The plaza and park as a short walk from here. A few streets over is the shopping area in town. We would stay there again without any hesitations. A+
