Hotel Villa Esperanza — Hotel in Penonomé

Mr. Jacinto (Owner? Manager?) is very nice. Stayed in room number one, which is down a dark, grimy looking hallway. The room had a nice flat screen television with cable and a working air conditioner, two double beds, desk, closet, two metal folding chairs, private bathroom (not too small). Room was very dark (low wattage light bulbs) and slightly smelly. Sheets and pillowcases looked very white and clean but bedspreads were stained. Bathroom wasn’t as clean as should be, stains near toilet paper fixture very off-putting (feces?). There was one bath towel, no other washcloths or hand towels. Soap and shampoo provided. Could hear everything the other guests said and did (doors closing, etc.) Wi-fi was good. I have stayed in worse places in Panama. But for my money, the rates at this one should be half what they are…other “hostales” in Panama deliver a LOT more (in terms of aesthetics, amenities, linens, furnishings, cleanliness,...

After a couple of really bad experiences in Panama City, then getting lost in the dark and missing our original booked place, it was so nice to find this place. The manager (owner?) could not have been nicer or more accommodating. And that's coming from a Canadian who are known for their niceness!||The room was maybe a little a little bare, but certainly suited our needs. Loved the pool area.||And the price and the help we got there more than made up for any deficiencies in the accommodations, like no little fridge, or safe.||If you expect a lot, you should go to an upscale hotel and pay a lot more!||It was clean, had a big screen tv with cable and the wifi worked perfectly.||We are staying there again on our way back to Panama City from the David area! Fuimos con unos amigos a disfrutar de las actividades culturales que nos ofrecía la ciudad de Penonomé, y nos alojamos en el Hostal " Villa Esperanza", por la recomendaciòn de un amigo. Fue un momento placentero y la acogida personal de su dueño, el Señor Jacinto fue espectacular. Con habitaciones muy cómodas, muy limpias y con buen gusto. En sus áreas verdes, bien cuidadas y con una excelente piscina y jacuzzi nos hizo pensar nuevamente volver a dicho lugar. Es un hostal que esta creciendo y que pronto será un fuerte atractivo de servicio de hospedaje y de excelente comida de la zona. Mas aún, su cocina muy bien equipada y comedor con vista desde donde se observa todo el hostal y zonas aledañas, nos deleitamos de su buena cocina y ricas bebidas.
