We were greeted by a crazy colour combination and then shown to our room of the same ilk by a friendly bellboy who very much resembled Manuel from Fawlty Towers. All looked okay so far. ||To our or their detriment, the hotel deliberately omitted to tell us that our toilet did not flush, instead informing us that there was a problem with odour and humidity in the room (despite there being none at the time) and tried to forceably remove us from the room after we had been there for five minutes. The room seemed fine and we didn't understand what all the fuss was about but we moved rooms after discovering the true problem later.....what was more annoying was the staff found it quite funny, and had to lie about the fact the toilet was broken instead of getting it fixed or telling the truth!||Another couple had an ant infestation in the wardrobe and sink when shown to their room but Manuel said (Spanish accent) "Ohhh do not worry, it is just the Amigos" and started killing them all. Unsurprisingly the couple also moved. Fawlty Towers....||No to mention at breakfast, when we were delivered cold scrambled eggs the waiter stuck his fingers in the eggs to check the problem and then took the plates back to the kitchen only to return shortly after with the same exact items having been blasted in a microwave.....unsurprisingly we went hungry that morning ||On top of this the sheets on the bed had many small hairs on them and just did not appear clean so we slept in our cotton bug 'sleepers' which we had brought with us.|Stay...
Read moreThis hotel has the most unique Panamanian decor, both outside and inside, of any that I observed throughout our entire tour of Panama. It has a Royal Casino adjacent to the hotel. My room was clean, and very decorative; it was an honor to stay here. Upon arrival I requested a bucket of ice which was delivered by a personable room attendant named Juan Anthony (I do hope I remembered his name correctly because he was superb!). The staff was also very personable and friendly. The only thing I wanted for was some hot water coming out of my sink for shaving; the hot water coming out of the shower was sufficient. Staying at this hotel gave me a well-deserved vacation from staying at the traditional American hotels. The food at the restaurant was superb! I will definitely stay at this hotel in the future. If you would like to experience Panamanian culture you should plan a night or two here. I will definitely return...
