El Rio Negro Sportfishing Lodge — Hotel in Veraguas

This is a first class experience for the moment you inquire up to the moment you leave. Lauren and Alex have the mindset to make it the best experience of your life. The lodge is a rustic sheik kind of place that is extremely comfortable with a top notch staff to care for your every need. We had some food allergies and issues that Chef John Pierre took care to see we all ate very well. I mean to say 5 star meals even on the boat for lunch and go bag for the trip back to airport. The fishing was hard but Captain Miguel did his best to put us on fish. They did not hold back on fuel or effort to find fish. I did catch a Rooster fish that was a bucket list fish for me. They had all top of the line Shimano fishing gear so there is no need to bring your own. I did bring some lures and jigs and they were open to trying them. The only hard part is the drive to and from the airport. It's a 5+ hour car ride. A float plane maybe the best investment for Alex. :) If you want to be treated like a King and Queen after a hard day on the water it does not get any better...

What an incredible trip. Everyone involved in the well orchestrated adventure was a joy to be around. We found fish with capt Miguel. We indulged in phenomenal meals prepared but John P. And shared great conversations with Alex and Lauren and Dick. ||The first day we were the only boat on the water. We fought fish, we watched whales and we forgot about the modernize world and all the anchors they put around our necks. ||I found El Rio Negro online along with many others offerings. It’s never easy to book a trip of this caliber by simply stumbling across it online and then having a few email conversations with someone you know nothing about. If you want a fishing experience that caters to all levels of anglers this is the place. I've fished all over the world and have never experienced a group of captains that work as hard as Alex's team to find you fish. From the moment I spoke to Alex (owner) on the phone I knew this was the place for me. He was very in tune with the type of fishing I was looking for and made sure to meet my expectations.||The lodge itself is quaint. A classic fishing lodge.
