Jiwaka Mission Resort — Hotel in New Guinea

We missed out on accommodation in Mt Hagen, everything was booked out because of the show. We were driving from Kundiawa and it's only 30 to 40 minutes from Mt Hagen. Banz is a great little town, the roads a bit rough but when isn't it in PNG.||There were 4 of us and we had a room each, double bed, TV, coffee, well appointed bathroom, very comfortable.||The restaurant and bar have a good menu and catered for vegetarians and carnivores. We had dinner there every night as well as breakfast. We ordered a cut lunch and it was provided with minimum fuss.||The staff and owners were attentive and friendly. Jiwaka Mission Resort has really improved their services, congratulations. I remember the first time 4 years ago, it took a while for our orders to come, they have really taken the reviews posted here and have improved alot. I see that they have hired new staff who are working at the Catering and Beverage section. I like to go there to enjoy food and to watch the amazing sunset over the Waghi Valley. We spent two nights at JMR in October 2017 in a shared twin bedroom. It was clean, safe and very peaceful. The food was terrific and always more than you could eat at one sitting. The menu is great. The local produce is terrific. And the chefs, Simon and Bryce (from France) are excellent. All the staff were very friendly and helpful but the standout was the GM, Andrew.
