Had dined at this hotel/restaurant twice before, enjoying it, and decided to journey with my wife and kid after meeting one of the owners.||||The town is quaint. The property adjacent to the church of 'El Senor de Muruhuay'--a pilgrims' destination in the Central Andes. The hill sits in a privileged spot, with plenty of afternoon sunshine, at the confluence of two rivers. Definitely worth the visit.||||However, coming back to the hotel review... Even though the grounds are nice and the room had a beautiful view, we had problems. Plenty of hot water, but the cold water shut-off all of the sudden twice. This is outright dangerous. The internet was down--it seems all over town for two days. Breakfast was sub-par: margarine, not butter; so-so coffee, evaporated milk.||||We visited right after the holidays...low season. Tarma for Semana Santa is awesome,...
Read moreBoth my wife and I have more than 40 years combined experience in the hotel industry and we found this "hotel" to be the worst ever: doors that do not close, bathrooms not cleaned, no hot water, extremely noisy and worst of all: after checking three rooms and tired of rejecting them, finally settled for a room that had mold on the ceiling! The manager was the ownner's son and had no excuse for any. This hotel should be demolished and rebuilt, but we were told that the municipality did not want it done so it remains there. If you already have reservation and have to go there, check everything before...
