Positives:||Sylvana on the desk was extremely helpful and friendly, we can't sing her praises highly enough! She spent about an hour helping us out - she called our bus company and our Machu Picchu tour company several times to help us when our bus was cancelled due to riots that closed the road between Arequipa and Cusco. We don't know what we would've done without her! ||They let us keep our bags in a locked area during our 3day Colca canyon trip even though we weren't going to be staying there after that. ||They let us wait in the communal area and were allowed the use of the toilets, hot water for tea/ coffee/ noodles! even after we'd checked out. ||Included breakfast was great - bread rolls, jam, ham & cheese, eggs scrambled or fried, juice, tea/ coffee. ||Happy to organise a taxi for us. Ordered a pizza for us. ||Will give a wake up call or call to your room when your taxi transport is there. ||Older man on the desk also very friendly and helpful. ||Comfy bed, clean towels, room at the very top (room 1) had a sauna you could use for a charge (we didn't get a chance to test it out though!) ||||Negatives:||Room no. 6 at the bottom of the building near to the common area - could hear all noises from the hotel, doorbell, footsteps, voices, was quite noisy. ||Communal toilet...
Read moreThis is a great place to stay in Arequipa. It's a charming lilltle B&B with lots of character. The rooms were very clean and well prepared. The breakfast was also very nice, with freshly made juice, tea, coffee, fresh bread and eggs. But what really makes this place stand out from the rest is the level of service given to the guests. They couldn't have been more friendly and attentive. They organised our trip to the canyon, taxis and our onward journey to Puno. However, I would say anyone looking for accommodation smack bang in the centre i.e. Plaza de Armas then this not for you. But for us, we didn't mind the pleasant 15 walk to the centre as this B&B is situated in a lovely little spot away from the hustle and bustle of the busy centre. All in all, highly recommended. Thank you La Casa de Tintín!...
Read moreWe initially booked four nights here before a trek to colca canon. After a few days, we extended our stay by a week. ||||We loved our room (with balcony and extremely comfortable bed) and the staff at Tintin are extraordinary--so helpful and attentive. They helped us arrange several trips and our bus tickets for free, as well as makings feel completely at home. When I got sick after returning from the canon, the Tintin family was there to help. ||||Breakfast was delicious and swiftly prepared every morning. The coffee was exceptionally good. ||||Though the hotel is situated 15-20 minutes walking from the main square, we found the neighborhood charming and quiet. At night the loudest sound was that of the river! ||||If we ever manage to get back to Arequipa, we would love to stay with...
