Hotel Gran Palma Piura — Hotel in Castilla

The hotel is clean, comfortable, has a small pool and good buffet breakfast. However, several days before my arrival I contacted the hotel to book a taxi pick up from the airport. This was confirmed by the hotel, but when I arrived at the airport in Piura there was no taxi waiting for me. I waited but no taxi came. I just arrived in the country and didn't have a Peruvian number so I couldn't call, and so I went with one taxi driver who turned out to not be official and was parked outside of the airport parking lot. I didn't know which direction the hotel was from the airport etc., The fact that the Gran Palma driver was not there compromised my safety, as I am a young, female foreigner travelling alone, with ALL of my belongings, including my laptop. When I arrived at the hotel I explained to the Secretary what had happened. She didn't know why the taxi driver wasn't there and apologized, however I didn't feel listened to.This stressed me out. I wrote a respectful email back to the woman who had confirmed the taxi explaining what happend and never received a response. This did not give me a good impression of the hotel. I won't stay there again and wouldn't recommend that foreigners unfamiliar with Piura stay...

Traveled for business.||||Internet - fantastic, worked great. Slowed down a bit at night when there was a conference hosted and more guests, but generally worked really well.||Quality of service- great. Staff was extremely welcoming and professional. Check in and check out were easy. I was able to check in a bit early, which was great.||Cleanliness of room/hotel - squeaky clean. Breakfast was served by the pool one day, ||Hotel amenities - I was amazed at the amenities - gym machines were brand new and fantastic! they had a foam roller and balance ball! The pool was clean, great and big enough to swim laps. Restaurant had good options and food was tasty and fresh.||Hotel location - extremely central, on the Plaza de Armas, easy walking distance from Oltursa and Cruz del Sur bus stations and movie theaters, location could not possibly be better.||||Generally, I loved this place and was sad to leave. World tour stop-over at The Gran Palm Hotel The staff(very kindly) welcomed us warmly and with a big smile, 24 hours security at door and big and private parking ..everithing you need you can found here!! the our room clean and elegant, with all confort..when opened the door it was fantastic see a soft light and good music on inside!! Many pillows for more confort, and we love it !! wifi in the room work very well and fresh air condition (with this hot temperature) it was very appreciated .!! You can enjoy in the pool or in fitness room, there is a meeting room also!
