We had an incredible three nights at Muyuna. The entire staff were incredibly helpful, from the reservations team, to the guides, to the drivers of the boats. We felt safe the whole time and I don’t think I have ever met such a genuinely hospitable group. The food was delicious - some of the best we had through our two week stay in Peru - and the rooms, though basic, were comfortable and functional. The views out onto the river were lovely and one of the highlights of my time there was swinging in my hammock and watching the world go by.

Most of all, we loved having Melissa as our tour guide. How she could spot so much wildlife from such a distance I will never know! We saw sloths, monkeys, capybara, snakes, all kinds of birds, caimans, and a host of other animals. She really felt like a friend by the end of the few days, and I hope our paths cross again some time.

None of the activities were particularly strenuous, and they were well timed in terms of their frequency and duration. We were also surprised by how few mosquitoes we encountered at the lodge itself, though we did get bitten while walking in the forest behind the lodge. I was able to buy a mosquito net for my head at the lodge, along with some other basic supplies.

All in all, I would highly recommend a stay at Muyunq and I would happily return. They clearly care about sustainability and the local community, and it was a flawless experience from...

Muyuna Lodge brilliant from the moment we stepped off the boat, Rodger greeted us with a welcome drink and explained the running and facilities of the lodge. Lunch was served MMM yummo amazing home cooked meals and make sure you try the hot sauce. Rodger took us fishing for Piranha! That afternoon, I didn't catch any but the amazing wildlife that I saw I'll remember for ever, he's amazing ability to spot a bird, monkey, Iguna from a distance outstanding, to be able to summon monkeys wow, each day 3 times a day he took us for an adventure, taking great care to make sure I felt safe and comfortable even though at times I was stuck in mud and needed saving. I'm in awe of Rodgers knowledge of the jungle he spent hours taking us on journeys so that I could have wonderful memories of my once in a lifetime trip to the Amazon, I'll be forever grateful to this man. The meals at the lodge awesome, make sure your try the tropical fruit basket. The staff are wonderful and caring, the rooms are lovely, very basic which I loved, each room is protected with netting, I went to sleep listening to the frogs and was woken by the birds before enjoying a wonderful breakfast then heading out on another adventure, my only disappoint. . .I only had...

Our stay at Muyuna Lodge was an unforgettable experience, blending excitement with relaxation in the heart of the Amazon. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the warm and friendly staff including Dany, who made us feel at home in this remote paradise. One of the highlights of our trip was our guide, Donaldo. His extensive knowledge of the Amazon's flora and fauna was truly impressive. He was not only informative but also passionate about sharing his expertise, making each excursion fascinating and educational. The lodge itself was a haven of tranquility. Despite being deep in the jungle, everything was incredibly well-planned and organized. The accommodations were comfortable and clean, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploration. The meals! Every single dish was the best I've had in Peru! The vegeterian (soy based) lomo saltado was out of this world. Shout out to our driver Mario who helped us a lot! In summary, Muyuna Lodge exceeded all our expectations. The knowledgeable guide, the friendly and attentive staff, the food and the well-structured itinerary made our stay memorable. If you're looking for an authentic Amazon adventure, Muyuna Lodge is the perfect choice. Highly...

What a fantastic place to come and get a taste for life in the amazon. You feel at home as soon as you walk through the doors at their office in Iquitos. Everything is run quite smoothly, staff all speak great English and are really kind and helpful. The lodge itself is stunning, on the banks of one of the amazons tributaries, it’s all tropical lodges on stilts, hammocks and mosquito nets. The food is very good, you certainly don’t go hungry. The beds are cosy and the rooms are clean. Mozzies were not a problem at all for us indoors, just keep the doors closed. Around the lodge wear whatever you want but definitely bring the recommended clothing for excursions to help with mozzies and the sun. The trips by boat, canoe and foot into the jungle were great. The guides have a great deal of knowledge about the fauna and flora, all are adept at spotting wildlife and are very enthusiastic. Definitely worth the three hour trip upriver (they stop for a bathroom break). We spent 5 days/4 nights here which was good, but could definitely have stayed longer and had the excursions more spaced out to make some time for just relaxing and enjoying the jungle.

Last week we had the pleasure of staying in Muyuna Lodge for a 3 day 2 night tour. Our cabins where super clean and the balcony hammocks where a great place to chill. The sounds of the jungle during the evening was incredible. When we arrived we where greeted by our tour guide Moses and after lunch we started the tour. Moses was very experienced and his knowledge of the jungle was impressive, we have no idea how he can spot these animals so easily especially during the night tours! We saw sloths, caiman, monkeys, frogs, lizards, pink dolphins, snakes, turantulas, scorpions, owls and other native birds. We booked Muyuna as we had read it was vegan friendly, the food they provided us was the best vegan food we'd had on any tours in South America, the chef even cooked us some separate vegan deserts! Seeing the animals in their natural habitat and disconnecting in nature like this was an unforgettable experience and we would recommend Muyuna Lodge to anyone thinking of exploring the Amazon rainforest. Everything was easy and straight forward from making the reservation to catching our flights home.

This lodge provides abundant sightings of wildlife due to its close proximity to the national reserve. We have been to many lodges, but this provided an amazing experience for wildlife sightings and photography. The guide had no problem patiently waiting while I setup my equipment to take dozens of photos per sighting. The guide, Moises, was also wonderful. He was thoroughly informed of how to move about the jungle, and knew what to look out for when spotting animals and birds. He was also attentive but not overbearing, informative but not snooty, and an overall gentleman. The lodge was elegant and simple. There were fans in the room, hot water in the shower which is great for cold mornings, and the view of the river with ample protective screens from bugs was great. The food was also good, but I did want larger meals. Take time to read the travel options on their website. The bird watching option is ideal for those wanting to really take time to get to know birds of the Amazon and their behaviors, not to mention the photography.
