Olimpico — Hotel in Huancayo

Nice modernish box on the eastern corner of the Plaza de Armas. It's next door to a couple of chicken restaurants that are okay and not noisy. The hotel was decorated in the fifties style, I would say, without the irony. It has no wifi or any other facilities that make one coo. The place is secure as one has to go through a glass door and up a flight of stairs to reception. The rooms were fairly small but mine - 104 if you're taking notes - was very pleasant, with a nice view over the Plaza, a comfy bed, a TV that worked and a shower that provided hot water on demand 'nearly' every time I wanted it to. It's easy to get to and away from - three soles from the bus station. It costs 100 soles a night for a double, 70-80 for singles. Much better than any of the other hotels on the same side of the square, and I tried them all...

I wanted to stay at this hotel for a week, so I went to the receptionist (old man sitting behind the desk) to ask some information about the rooms and prices. He didn’t even say hi or how can I help you. No maners at all. It is sad that this prestigious hotel doesn’t have...

El lugar ahora cambió su razón social, al igual que su precio, aumentó un 60% el precio de lo que anteriormente costaba, ya que lo visité antes varías veces por el servicio y el precio que poseía, pero el servicio al parecer ahora con el aumento de precio empeoró, ya que si uno desea bañarse, por 80 soles no tienen agua caliente en la habitación, vamos en otros lugares con menos de 50 soles ya tienes eso, y acá? Hay que pagar más de 130 soles para poder disfrutar de ello acaso?, ya que es el precio que ahora piden, pero no da gusto pagarlo así, y en Huancayo hace frío para bañarse con agua helada que cae del grifo, que pena, y estaban en mis favoritos el lugar desde hace unos...
