We are traveling on a OAT tour||||We are in room 309. The lodge has just been recently upgraded, where in room 309 & 310 they now have combined the two rooms with small beds, by removing the old divider wall and turned the accommodation into a rather large single room with a king bed (and the room now has two bathrooms / showers). This place is rather rustic with no AC, but rather just a floor fan to move the air. There is fairly fast Wi Fi up at the main building dining area . Now it is hard to give this accommodation a comparable Tom’s typical hinge rating (0-5) that he uses for hotels; as this is not your typical western environment accommodation. Rather Tom can only compare it into a different scale of land accommodations we have previously enjoyed on the islands of the Pacific when we had dove on shipwrecks or explore WW II battlefields. Additionally Tom applied a multiplication factor = depending if the accommodations has a wood or tile floor.||Thus, we are giving these accommodations as a #3.5 “Jungle” rating (it has a wood floor).||||The main lodge eating area is nice and the food is exotic...

As in spiders, mosquito nets, monkeys, piranha fishing off the dock, a river otter at night, and an ocelot in the morning! ||Our guides were lovely, spoke wonderful English and knowledgeable of the place and travel - a shout out to our guide Celso - he managed to keep our family of 4 adults and 3 children engaged, but not exhausted, from early morning boating trips to knowing when we were too exhausted for more. The food was amazing, recognizable, and safe. (It's the Peruvian Amazon, you gotta expect some challenge). For each dinner there would be local elements, and they cooked more on request, as our party requested. We loved our add-on trip to the treetop walk, which was worth the price. I loved it here. Accommodation is primitive, as in only cold running water, and mosquito nets over all the beds, which is exactly what we came there for. But there is also plenty of drinking water, and the lovely doctora on site who sat with us...
