Really enjoyed our time at Ceiba Tops. I went with a large medical mission group. There are window AC units in each room, firm beds, excellent water pressure and beautiful grounds. From the location you can take a canopy hike (guided for an additional fee), travel to monkey island, visit yagwha village (to see traditional Amazonian tribe dress and re-enactments, or you can simply explore the grounds. The guides and bartenders are all fantastic. There is some WiFi although limited to the common space and not the rooms- it is still a luxury for being in the middle of the Amazon River/ rainforest. Many thanks to the owners and staff for making our stay so lovely and seamless.

Location, location and location. This is a great lodge considering it’s in the Amazon jungle, next to the Amazon river and all the rooms have air conditioning and hot water. I can’t imagine how much more challenging it’s for modern folks to visit this amazing Amazon without this lodge. Imagine sleeping in a tent in the hot and wet jungle, with bugs, snakes and other animals all around you. Limited clean water and hot cooked food. I agreed some of the packaged tours are too commercial and “set up”. But overall very comfortable and enjoyable. For goodness sakes, we have electric and WiFi in the middle of the Amazon ❤️

Rooms with hot water and air conditioning. The lounge and dining hall are natural air, with thatched roofing and screens. This is as close to nature as most folks will want to get, and we had no problems with insects. (Of course, we took proper precautions ourselves.) Food can get monotonous after a few days' stay (can you say Dorado?) The pool was nice and all the staff were outgoing.

If you’re looking for a complete Amazon immersion experience Explorama Ceiba Tops is the organization to book! We covered a lot of territory over our 5 day, 4 night stay included as a pre-trip extension with Overseas Adventure Travel. Our tour leader, Abelardo Flores, and boat pilot, Dennis, introduced us to local communities, spotted wildlife for us, led nature walks day and night and even arranged a sunset happy hour float down the river. ||I suspect that there is not a bird, plant or animal that Abelardo can’t identify after 25 years studying in his magical home. He speaks fluent English, Spanish and many of the local languages. His love of nature is obvious and infectious. He is truly committed to using eco-tourism as a vehicle to preserve this special place and support education and opportunity for the riverside families. ||The accommodations at Ceiba Tops lodge are very comfortable with air conditioned rooms, unlimited fresh water and menus featuring Peruvian dishes made with locally sourced ingredients. Favorites included hearts of palm ceviche and a baked stuffed plantain. We enjoyed afternoon dips in the lodge pool followed by happy hour cocktails. I highly recommend the pisco sour. 😋||Don’t be scared away from an adventure like this because of the rain or fear of mosquitos or piranhas. All are easily managed. Be sure to pack hiking boots, fully waterproof poncho, collapsible walking poles, refillable water container, bathing suit, mosquito repellent with DEET, and sandals for use around the lodge and on the boating adventures. It is hot and humid - expect to change clothes a couple times a day. ||I’d recommend a minimum 4 night stay to have a thorough introduction to this special corner of the world and its warm and welcoming hosts. ||To arrive at Ceiba Tops Lodge you’ll fly into Iquitos where your guide will meet you, provide ground transportation and an introduction to Iquitos life, accompany you to the departure boat and ride with you down the Amazon “road”...

Our family of 6 had a wonderful trip to Ceiba Tops - we loved the Amazon experience and especially our guide Luis!!||The highlight of the visit were the activities Luis organized for us including Explorama’s treetop Canopy Walk up the Napo river, fishing for piranhas, visiting Monkey Island, a fun tuk-tuk ride, birding and swimming by the Amazon shores, night safari walk and more! Luis has deep knowledge of the Amazon flora and fauna, and helped us spot plants and wildlife we would have missed. He was also very thoughtful, accommodating and always had a great sense of humor.||Ceiba Tops’ facilities were very good, including a very pleasant lodge/dining room and bar, comfortable guest rooms and swimming pool with a fast water slide! There was even an air conditioned gym that a couple of us used one day and a hammock house that we did not have time to try. We enjoyed the boat rides up and down the river, and the surroundings were lush and tropical with many jungle flowers and an Amazon view.||The full board format made meals simple and we loved eating lots of fish, chicken, rice, platanos, yucca and other Peruvian fare.||Overall a very...

My husband and I went to see upper tops in September. We enjoyed being there so much. We had such a wonderful time! We saw so many different kinds of animals and plant life that we would’ve never seen otherwise! And the staff and food and rooms were just wonderful! Our guide, Adriano, was top notch! He spoke very well in English and in Spanish and make sure that we got to experience different activities that were our style of exploring and pointed out animals and plants we wouldn’t have known to look for. He knew what most things were, and could identify them in their scientific name as well as their standard name. And if he didn’t know, he would definitely find out for us. He ensured that he greeted us at every meal and would make plans with us to do excursions throughout the day or evenings. Adriano also made sure that when I had a food allergy to one of our meals that I was accommodated for. We felt he went above and beyond for us during our stay. I would highly recommend Adriano and I would highly recommend going...
