We spent 3 nights at this lovely lodge which is run by the owners Paul and Nora, who are two really lovely people, with great attention to detail.||||The common/reception area almost resembles a museum, our room looked just like on the photos and was very clean and our bed was super comfortable.||||The lodge is perfect for exploring the sights of the Chachapoyas region (Kuelap fortress, Gocta waterfalls, etc.) during the days and relaxing in the afternoons wjile enjoying the great landscapes. The location of the lodge is quite remote (though only a 5 minute walk to Lamud village), but Paul and Nora can put you in touch with a driver to take you to the sights of the region. It is about a 1 hour drive to Kuelap and to Gocta. Also, Paul picked us up from Chachapoyas airport and arranged for us to be taken back (about a 1 hour drive as well).||||You can have lunch and dinner in their restaurant where every meal we had was delicious. Nora has her own fruit and vegetable garden and uses lots of her fresh (and naturally organic) produce in her meals. Breakfast was with freshly made eggs and fresh juice though otherwise a bit basic; but when we made a special request, Paul and Nora went out of their way to get it for us.||||So we can definitely recommend...
Read moreI spent a little over a week in Chachapoyas Peru to see the sites (Kuelap, Revash, the Sarcophaig, the waterfalls, ect.) I heard of a large rock art panel of picture glyphs near Lamud a small quite village 35 kilometers north west of Chachapoyas. I arranged a tour with Lamud Adventure Backpackers & Volunters. A very nice lady came to Chachapoyas to pick me up. Took me to see the rock art panel a few minutes from a large waterfall. Her name is Roxana Mori (+51949618737). She worked with an archaeologist for a few||years and knows where all the sites on and off the grid are located. We went to breakfast||and a late lunch or early dinner at a fabulous hotel located in a small valley in Lamud. ||Tambo Sapalanchan lodge. It has 6 villas 50 meters or more apart on a spacious lawn with Llamas grazing on it. Paul and Nora run the place. Paul is a gourmet cook. Had the best meals the whole time I was in Peru. Anything you can do in Chachapoyas you can do in Lamud. If I go back I...
Read moreWe stayed for four nights at Tambo Sapalanchan in May 2023. We choose this place simply because we wanted to visit the Sarcophages of Karajia, but we got a lot more than we expected. The hotel is just spectacular, equipped with first class Peruvian art of better quality than found in an average museum. Our room was spacious, very comfortable, beautifully decorated, and equipped with a superb bed. The meals are good and prepared by Paul, the owner himself. Moreover, Paul also offers excursions to nearby attractions, which we really enjoyed a lot. What we, however, appreciated most is the personal atmosphere, thanks to Paul, who is undoubtedly a perfect host. Thank you, Paul, for the unforgettable four days at Tambo...
